When #Cycling's not the right answer, there are other options to augment the power of wheelchairs. They don't come cheap either though π³!! If you're able to, please consider supporting RoCo's fundraiser so they can move freely around hilly #Sheffield! #ActiveMobility

My partner RoCo also uses a manual wheelchair, but Sheffield hills are A LOT. E-motion wheels would give them so much independence and energy back. Unfortunately, life changing tech doesn't come cheap.
If you can't donate, sharing also really helps

Congratulations to @peddlemywheels and CEO Alper Muduroglu for winning well deserved LCC Community Initiative Award!! Key partners to #Wheels4MeLondon inclusive cycle loan scheme with @Wheels4Well. Total commitment to tackling barriers to cycling for the most excluded ππ»ππ»ππ».
Pleased to be at @London_Cycling's AGM. Such impressive advocates for #cyclists in #London! Increasingly concentrating on the groups currently under represented in cycling (women, young people, people on low income, etc.).
Two visits to the Palace of Westminster, two days running! Better weather this morning so, time for a selfie while in the queue for security checks π.
@ZagDaily @RiDC_UK @Wheels4Well Very interesting οΏ½οΏ½π! Would be great for three-wheeled cycles too (but likely to push further the already steep price tags, so likely out of the reach of most π).
@Laurakiora@jojomay1@carlafrancome@gillegsy Thank you Laura. Sorry to hear but not surprised. Such a shame "heritage" specialists care so little about Disabled & older locals & visitors. Clearly don't realise how much of the #PurplePound they're forfitting in the process. Guernsey sounds such a gorgeous destination ππ.
@SaskiaHeijltjes@Wheels4Well I visited a few years back & within minutes of arrival I'd spotted a handcyclist & two trike cyclists. I thought I'd died & gone to Disabled cycling heaven ππ€ͺ. In NL, some local authorities give sports equipment to peeps with mobility impairments. Many choose cycles π.
@linkcott18@carlafrancome Cobbles, in my wheeler's opinion are the work of the devil. Spine & wheels crunchers ππ . Also trip hazards for most ppl. Should be banned. But if they can be laid in a way that gives them the feel of tarmac underwheel whilst looking oldy worldly, I'm all for them π
@carlafrancome Genuine question: many wheelchair users about? Cobbles, for a start. Also: do they provide parking for blue badge holders within the pedestrianised area? Many lovely heritagey areas are no-go zones for people with limited mobility & so we take our money elsewhere π€ͺ
