I want to thank National Security Advisor @NuhuRibadu for a productive and positive conversation with the US Congressional delegation to Nigeria.
There were concrete steps and actions discussed at length, that if fully executed, I believe will enhance security across the country for all Nigerians, disrupt and destroy terrorist organizations in the northeast and stop the killing of Christians (a specific concern for @POTUS and myself) - particularly in the Middle Belt of the country.
I want to thank the Nigerian government and @officialABAT for rescuing the 100 innocent and precious Catholic school children. This is a positive demonstration of the government’s increasing response to the security situation and shows commitment to the emergency declaration laid out by President Tinubu.
The US’ sense of urgency on our concerns was positively received. I feel that a cooperative security framework is within sight. The now established joint task force between Nigeria and the US is a great example.
It is clear that there is an openness and willingness on the part of the Nigerian government to work with the United States to tackle these critical issues. Now, that openness has to translate to concrete action.
There is much work still to be done, but things are moving in the right direction. I look forward to the next steps with Nigerian government and the continued open dialogue.
Peace be with you all. God bless the great people of Nigeria.
Credits given where credit is due.
Nigeria has handled the issue with USA with great care and understanding.
If this was an audition to be President, Nuhu Ribadu has excelled in flying colors.
It’s a long haul but this moment is quite defining for him

Technology is indeed a double-edged sword. No doubt it has helped man to solve so many problems and conquer many challenges, including existential ones. However, nothing poses the greatest threat to human existence on this planet than the advance in warfare technology. #Nukes
@ZagazOlaMakama RIP hero. You have given your all and the country can't thank you enough! May you and your fallen colleagues rest in perfect peace, ameen.
For those wondering what Donald Trump’s remarkable political comeback means for Africa, the answer is: Not much! He has never shown much interest in Africa. Even more important, Africans should fix their own problems, starting with leadership, governance, security, democracy.
When @NationalGridNg collapse or whatever problem it is that condemned us to darkness is resolved, DISCOS would ask Nigerians on post-paid meters to pay estimated electricity bills for the darkness we endured so that they can be able to pay salary. @NERCNG will pretend ignorance.
@aonanuga1956 I am particularly surprised why Federal Government allows the neighboring military junta in Niger Republic to use local Hausa movie series produced in Kano to propagate pro-military coup agenda. I think the aim is to brainwash the citizens of Nigeria to clamor for military coup.
@BrightSekoni_ And I never heard of him, even though I read above average. That shows how inconsequential we all are in this vast world no matter how important we are in our local spheres.
@kedcoplc Happy week with no 5 hours light supply in the last 72 hours. You are part of the reasons why our weekend wasn't so happy and, if you haven't improve, the week too could be the same.
@MssZeeUsman Personally, I think African people should look at where they have comparative and competitive advantage and build their strengths there. As much as Africa is far behind the rest but it's equally inevitable. Whatever advantages we have, we should harness them to the fullest.
@DrUsmanIsyaku@MssZeeUsman So basically you are saying there are "cultural issues" that are anti-development and anti-prosperity which are common to all black people in Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean. I am not sure if black people have uniform "cultural issues" across these continents.

@its_huzaifah__ We have attached too much importance and emphasis on the beliefs of the successive political rulers in what is today northern Nigeria to the extent we overlook other aspects of their lives like the economy, technology , arts, music, governance structures foreign relations etc
Truly, many people are struggling silently, in these times of critical economic hardship. They shouldn’t have to beg or show their need for our support. Let’s extend a helping hand to as many people as we can, even when they don’t ask for it. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Encourage those in your circle to also do the same.
A powerful world that has persistently and consistently proven that it has neither humanity nor conscience would take a particular moment to pretend it has one.
Conscience, as Usman Danfodio said, is an open wound that only the truth can heal. Hypocrisy only makes it fester.
