the thing about mirroring people’s behaviour (back to them) is that they still won’t recognize themselves in it. they’ll only focus on what you’re doing to them—even though it’s exactly what they’ve done to you.
Immigrant workers from Angola are being treated very badly in Namibia. Here is a woman who suffered slavery at the hands of her so-called employers. She was deprived of food, had no proper place to sleep or blankets to protect her from the harsh weather. She was not given food, never got any rest since she started working, and she was never paid.
Many Namibians depend on people like her to do house chores, while others look after livestock. They are often not paid even a minimum wage whatsoever and receive no benefits at all.
Let's make noise, slavery and mistreatment of workers must end!!
BREAKING: Namibia’s senior women’s team, the Brave Gladiators, are Cosafa champions after beating South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the final this afternoon. Congratulations, Gladiators 🇳🇦
I believe that people's actions can make it clear that they have no respect or regard for you, regardless of what they say. Their actions clearly indicate that they don't value you. When you notice this, take it for what is!
Don’t stay in places where people are committed to misunderstanding your character. The right environments don’t require you to constantly defend who you are, they recognize it.
They weren't lying when they said you wake up one day and just don't care anymore. No warning, no dramatic shift, just a quiet, almost peaceful detachment.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to speak up for yourself when someone is crossing your boundaries or dismissing your feelings. You are your biggest advocate. No one else can read your mind or feel what you feel.
