Advancing local vaccine manufacturing requires bold ideas, strong partnerships and practical action. At the @IVIHeadquarters side event during #WHA79 in Geneva, @BioVaxInstitute CEO, Dr. Wesley Ronoh, participated as a speaker and highlighted key interventions needed to promote biomanufacturing self-reliance, including strengthening national and regional vaccine manufacturing ecosystems, investing in regulatory and quality infrastructure, expanding sustainable technology transfer initiatives, developing scientific and manufacturing capacity, and supporting market sustainability through predictable demand.
Kenya BioVax is committed to moving from policy to practice by building the partnerships, systems and capabilities required to advance local production, regional health security and Africa’s journey toward vaccine and biotherapeutics manufacturing self-reliance. 🇰🇪🌍 #KenyaBioVax #IVI #WHA79 #VaccineManufacturing #Biomanufacturing #HealthSecurity #LocalManufacturing #TechnologyTransfer #AfricaHealthSecurity
Strengthening global partnerships for local manufacturing remains central to @BioVaxInstitute’s agenda. On the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva 🇨🇭, @BioVaxInstitute CEO, Dr. @wronoh , convened a meeting with @biofarmaID Indonesia’s leadership 🇮🇩, led by the President Director, Mr. Shadiq Akasya. During the meeting, they advanced the ongoing discussions on potential partnership opportunities in technology transfer and biomanufacturing capacity building, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing South-South cooperation, vaccine and biotherapeutics manufacturing, and Africa’s journey towards health security and manufacturing self-reliance. 🇰🇪🌍

Kenya Advances Vaccine Manufacturing Ambitions Through IVI Leadership Role
Kenya's contribution to vaccine self-reliance and regional health security received global recognition during the International Vaccine Institute (@IVIHeadquarters ) Global Council meeting held in Manila, Philippines. The event, aimed at shaping the Institute's long-term strategic direction, brought together IVI member states and partners to deliberate on future governance, review the draft 2027–2031 strategy, and strengthen collaboration on innovation, country partnerships, and local and regional vaccine development and manufacturing. A key milestone for Kenya was its election as Vice-President of the IVI Global Council, alongside Brazil, as non-funding state representatives to the IVI Board of Trustees, effective November 2026.
From the @BioVaxInstitute's perspective, this milestone aligns closely with Kenya's ambition to build sustainable vaccine manufacturing capacity and contribute meaningfully to Africa's vaccine self-reliance agenda. Kenya's representation by Dr. Wesley Ronoh, Chief Executive Officer of Kenya @BioVaxInstitute , and Prof. Elijah Songok, Acting Director General of @KEMRI_Kenya, reflects a coordinated national approach that connects vaccine research, development, manufacturing, and policy leadership. As BioVax advances Kenya's local manufacturing agenda, engagement through IVI provides a valuable platform to deepen partnerships, strengthen technical capacity, and position Kenya as an active contributor to vaccine equity, regional manufacturing readiness, and public health impact.

@janetmachuka_ I just check who the supermarket's milk processor is. For Naivas it's the mountain fresh milk processors. Win win for me as I already use mountain fresh. It's great to see brand leverage being monetized.
@PKengara@tunajibu@AbdulqadirOmar@IdaOdinga The everything else will be inscribed in its place at the right time as the monument takes shape. Everything else would be too much on the cross and that's the highest national office he held.
This week, let's recommit to ensuring our children are safe, educated, and hopeful. By giving them a strong foundation, we are building a brighter, more fulfilling future for everyone.

For almost four decades, Nancy Pelosi has served the American people and worked to make our country better. No one was more skilled at bringing people together and getting legislation passed – and I will always be grateful for her support of the Affordable Care Act. She made us proud to be Democrats, and will go down in history as one of the best speakers the House of Representatives has ever had. Nancy, thank you for your leadership and your friendship. Michelle and I wish you and Paul the best in this next chapter.
@ChibuOnwurah Well, there's the other side of the coin with children who developed a drinking habit and later addiction following that first drink offered by a parent in the name of trust & openness.
