The draw Alzheimer's has on our state's Medicaid budget is going to get worse - and fast - as NM's pop. grows older and diagnoses spike. Programs to help folks safely stay in their community and out of a facility might be more cost effective. We should talk about that, #NMLeg.

$177 million of NM's Medicaid dollars were spent on folks with Alzheimer's in 2017, and by 2025 the disease's draw on the state's Medicaid budget will be 52% more due to our aging pop. It's time to discuss how to improve caregiver programs to reduce its burden. #ENDALZ #NMLEG

A 36% increase! That's the projected change in #Alzheimers diagnoses in our state by 2025, and that significant increase would make our state among the hardest hit. NM's population is aging, and our state needs to be prepared for this costly and widespread disease. #NMLeg #ENDALZ
