With cancer vaccines now being discovered with AI ($MRNA), it seems that the US government might actually grow its way out of its budget deficit.
It feels like we're in the early innings of the healthcare system becoming unburdened by many terminal illnesses.
Not holding grudges is a super power.
Grudges prevent you from acting in your own interest out of spite, and narrow your field of opportunity by closing doors to people and opportunities out of pride.
The way to not hold grudges is to not get offended and to not take things personally.
People are very quick to perceive slights as intentional when often they are accidental or unknown. Even when intentional, better to see their actions as them trying to meet their own needs rather than as a threat. Their judgments are more about their own projections than about you.
Not holding grudges or taking things personally allows you to work with anyone for whom it's in your interest to work with, in whatever capacity it makes sense. And it saves you time stewing over slights or preserves your energy for constructive projects rather than stoking grievances.
Thank God I’m nothing like the San Francisco software engineer stereotype. I’m into bouldering and rock climbing, I cycle to Marin, and wear Uniqlo not cargo shorts and crocs man. Urban planning is a passion of mine, big YIMBY here. Idk what the nerds are listening to but I’m still bumping old Kanye West and Aphex Twin. I actually touch grass unlike the other swe’s so I’m always on Partiful, scheduling things. I’m smart so outside of work I’m learning Chinese and spend a lot of time on LessWrong. I’m a NeoLib (smart, again) and love Tyler Cowen and Ezra Klein. I only date Chinese women but that’s a coincidence not a fetish. Pickleball, yeah, but ironically. I work on some hardware side projects in my free time. I’m unique, basically.
