A very significant ~X6.3-class solar flare is in progress (the last flare of its approximate magnitude was in 2002).
The flare is still in progress, but when it quiets down, it will take 26th place for most intense solar flares observed all-time using satellites.
Models may have slightly underdone ridging, allowing our #NSstorm to tick slightly further North than anticipated.
Won't make a huge difference but some areas will almost surely overperform the 15-25 forecast from EC.
