@KenWoodOnTech @StoryGrid No you're not. My aunt skims thru as well. I want to enjoy it. I want to be immersed in the world, feel the characters, etc. So, I take my time. I read less but it's a better experience.

@StoryGrid Don't worry about a thing other than the words you're putting down. Let it come from the heart. If it's good, cream rises to the top. Don't try to force it in a box or anything unless you're writing for children. Just let er rip!

@M_Allen_Knight I agree and have plenty of dark material. Darkness and violence is safely experimented in a story. You can engage in it fictitiously with no harm or consequences to you or anybody else.

@StoryGrid Endings are always tough. I give authors quite a big grace margin for the ending part of the story. The only thing I really knock is if you get out of character, totally ruin an arc that's been cooking, or ignore a lot line and then rush it at the end.
