@Kyrylo_Budanov@Tatarigami_UA Certainly, you have every right to choose your own heroes. But note well that other countries have every right to draw their own conclusions from your choices. Glorifying the perpetrators of Volhinia, when Poland is your best ally? That is extremely stupid.
@rshereme It's not only Russians and Russian puppets who object to the glorification of groups like this. Calling them "Russian puppets" is incredibly tone-deaf and offensive to most Poles, many of whom had relatives murdered or ethnically cleansed by UPA. Your best allies. Really stupid.
@rshereme Nationalist fantasy nonsense. Kyivan Rus was founded in NOVGOROD, moved to Kyiv later. Kyiv was ruled by Mongols just like Moscow. Both countries are direct descendants of Kyivan Rus.
@WillRicci@rich_goldberg Indeed. The final deal will be worse than the Obama one Trump tore up, and Iran is no longer so afraid of us. This war will result in a severe worsening of our security situation. The most humiliating American defeat in -- I actually can't think of another such.
@rich_goldberg This is delusional. Iran has not agreed to give up enrichment or ballistic missiles, and everyone knows the "entombed" stockpiles can be dug up quickly. We have achieved zero with this breathtakingly stupid war.
@Isa_Yusibov Maybe it's not a question of EITHER the West, or Putin. Maybe it's neither. Maybe this is a false dichotomy.
Turkey has superpower ambitions. Turkey expects war with Israel (God forbid). Turkey has long been out of the U.S. orbit, and didn't need to leave NATO to get there.
@mikekarnat@citrinowicz Iranians did mostly hate the regime, but like all people under external attack, they put that aside and rally around those protecting them. They will get around to dealing with their own regime, after we stop bombing them and threatening to end their civilization.
@steveplotnicki@FreeIran70@citrinowicz Japan and Germany were the aggressors, and were totally defeated in brutal and gigantic land wars. Japan was nuked. In both countries, Allied militaries took over the government and media. This is very different from Iran.
@David_Johnson41@citrinowicz@BarakRavid It already has consolidated. It's an external, brutal, aggression causing this -- from the point of view of Iranian people. That makes any people rally around the flag, and the worse things get, the more. Nothing unites a people, or bolsters a regime, like an external attack.
@genderisgenetic@IngiltereMuh@LePapillonBlu2 Nonsense. Building a society without social problems is extremely hard. And the idea that the Nordic countries have this because of "ethnic homogeneity" is deeply racist; as if all our problems come from diversity, and we wouldn't have them if we just didn't all those "elements".
