Why doesn’t @PGYouthBB move pool play back a day and then play single elimination when it rains out? Makes sure you at least get 5 games instead of 4. @PerfectGameUSA
So probably one of the guys i respect the most in the golf world has a pretty good take here. I agree with most of this. Not all. But most. Which is saying a lot.
Nobody asked, but here are my thoughts on the golf ball rollback...
The USGA needs to do a better job of defining the issue. "The ball goes too far" is not specific enough. What is the ACTUAL issue?
For example, the best argument I've heard is that the courses aren't played the way the architects intended them. too many well-placed fairway bunkers are now carried by 80% of the field when it used to be 0-10% of the field. Ironically, this actually makes distance less important now than it would be if only 20% of the field could carry those bunkers
So if the issue is that players are caring too much about distance and not enough about the rest of the game, a rollback would actually make this issue worse
Personally, I think the answer is making the ball spin again and limiting correctiveness of drivers. Make marginal increases in speed exponentially harder to keep straight and guys will purposely dial it back a bit
@ImGainey Want me to make my shit box look good or be able get to the race track and throw a little fresh rubber on now and then? It’s money and time and time is money. U should try rooting for an underdog.
@Jomboy_ Does any team miss more middle/middle pitches than the Rangers? I have watched first 2 innings and even David Murphy is commenting about Nelson not afraid of living in the middle.
@AlexBlickle1 I think I did the impossible today. 1st round of golf in a month. 65 1 bogey. Never made 2 birdies in a row (no eagles). Has to be almost mathematically impossible right?
@BenColeyGolf@DuBoseDefense@BeatinTheBookie Competition generally improves every product. I own an artificial turf/putting greens company in north Texas. We have shitty competitors and good competitors. Both make sure we stay on top of our game.
