Today’s EU & UNICEF Humanitarian Air Bridge will deliver 100 tonnes of aid to fight #Ebola in the DRC: medicines, protective gear, tents & more.

We’re acting fast: €15M in new humanitarian assistance announced Friday, on top of €87M allocated for the Great Lakes this year.

On 20-21 May, Sweden, as current chair, hosted the International Contact Group for the Great Lakes (ICG) with🇧🇪🇩🇰🇪🇺🇫🇷🇩🇪🇳🇱🇸🇪🇨🇭🇬🇧🇺🇸 in Stockholm. The meeting brought together Special Envoys, UNSE Xia @un_greatlakes, representatives of ongoing mediation efforts - including AU mediator Togo, Qatar and the US - alongside invited experts and @FBAFolke.

The meeting demonstrated a shared commitment to coordinated international support for peace in the Great Lakes region.

On 23 April from 10AM, @Europarl_EN will host an exchange with Dr @DenisMukwege, Nobel Peace and Sakharov Prize laureate, on the situation in the #GreatLakesRegion, focusing on challenges, resilience and pathways to justice.
