As the names of Americans murdered on September 11th are read aloud at Ground Zero, AOC and Mamdani are laughing and smiling together.

There is a time and a place for politics. This isn’t it.

Ground Zero is sacred ground.

Those names belong to fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, firefighters, cops, and innocent Americans who went to work one morning and never came home.

For a few hours, on one day, have some damn respect.

September 11th is not a photo op.
It is not a networking event.

It is a funeral America has attended for 25 years.

It’s a classic case of “what if?”

One of the most surreal satellite images you’ll ever see is the one below taken by NASA on September 11th, 2001.

As the terrorist attacks were unfolding, Hurricane Erin was spinning ~500 miles offshore east, southeast of New York City. In the NASA satellite imagery below, you can see both Erin in the Atlantic and the smoke plumes from the World Trade Center towers being blown south by the northerly winds.

Had the high-pressure system over the Ohio Valley / Northeast not been there, the cold front wouldn’t have kicked Erin out to sea, and it is very possible that the course of history would have changed.

⚡️ Scattered storms, some with frequent lightning & thunder, are moving toward our area overnight. Given the shallow, stable surface layer in place across much of the area, there's a good chance the thunder will be the deep, rumbling kind that "shake the whole house." (1/2)
