This psychological operation is being done to us intentionally. By those against America (foreign and domestic). It has been slowly happening for decades and now we’re destroying ourselves. Wake up.

Hey. I saw the video. I grant you everything in it without doing any investigation to try to debunk it. That’s because there’s nothing wrong with trying to make more money. The problem still lies with government getting in the way (I’m trying to stick to the original topic of the conversation).

When the market collapses ( big businesses failing at the same time) that is economic nature telling us the way we’re doing business isn’t working and we need to adjust. That is normal. When the government steps in and saves the market (with money it doesn’t have) it is messing with a natural order, and creating a moral hazard. During the 2007-2008 recession, the government should have let all the big businesses that were going broke fail. 100%.

I agree it’s sad how modern big businesses have hollowed out small towns and communities. But you can’t only blame companies. Amazon for example, around its beginning got a big discount from the United States Postal Service. This was a big competitive advantage for Amazon. The USPS ended up struggling more than ever. Everyone blames Jeff Bezos. I never hear anyone blaming the person that gave him that deal. Jeff Bezos had much less leverage at that time. Millions of people with free will also still use Amazon. This is the economy millions of people support. Take it out on them.

I personally don’t have a problem with a company like Amazon, but if their business starts to fail, the government should not bail them out.

Be careful with acting holier than thou. We’re both on here using devices we both know was probably built using child labor ( I don’t feel good about that, yet here I am). We’re also both on here using a platform that is 100% capitalist, and it works.

I'm not defending bad actors, but part of living in a free country/economy/environment, is accepting some will always act poorly, of course some laws/regulations are necessary, but not excessive because we prefer maximal liberty for everyone else. There are bad employers, but in a free market those employers have to adjust or go out of business, because there will come along a better employer, or better business, or better business model that makes everyone happier at the same time.

Too much government involvement blurs that truth and where the lines are. It develops unnatural incentives that didn't exist before. Employers seek the checkboxes that give them the best tax benefits, and employees behave the same way. I’ve seen co-workers not take promotions for example, because they will lose certain government benefits, and why work harder when they can keep those benefits and their free time. That’s what they verbally said to me. That’s other people’s tax money that people think is all going to the needy and innable. Too much government involvement skews fairness.

When Ford doubled its pay to the factory workers to $5 a day (world wide news back then) they did so due to natural market forces, not because government told them so. It was a win-win.
Everyone wanted to work for Ford, and Ford started seeing their best financial success for years.

You shouldn’t use Unions to force employment with a company. Not saying unions are bad, but forced relationships are never good. If you don’t like the company just do something else. You don’t have to stay with the same company your whole life if you’re unhappy. (FYI, I’m not some big hot shot for a major company. I’m an hourly worker).

Back to outsourcing labor overseas. There's plenty of American companies that make everything here, and there's plenty of people that would prefer to support them instead of foreign companies or foreign manufacturing. It’s just too expensive for most of us. It’s more expensive because of unnecessary government intervention (intentional or not) than it is because of greedy businesses.
