From a Community Benefit to Community Action! It all starts with understanding the terminology. Thank you Dr. Lori Carter-Edwards for this riveting talk! #HCSRN22
Ready for an invigorating session “Are You Really Ready to Do the Work? Shifting the Research Paradigm through Meaningful and Equitable Collaborations!” at the #HCSRN22. Great way to kick-off the conference!
On a day for the history books, @TheAmandaGorman delivered a poem that more than met the moment. Young people like her are proof that "there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it; if only we're brave enough to be it."
@Saints#SayHerName campaign found a true champion for women and Black women’s health in Dr. @teaniese Davis! Thank you for bringing together strong women to discuss important topics!
The Saints Players Coalition held its first #SayHerName roundtable conversation this week.
The group hosted experts on healthcare, education, and violence as it relates to African American women.
Video of the conversation will be posted Saturday, Sept. 26
“Camp A adhered to...Georgia’s Executive Order that allowed overnight camps to operate beginning on May 31.” #COVID19 doesn’t care about politics or executive orders. Attack rate was 44% 77% of those tested were positive. @CDCMMWR https://t.co/zTcoLPG3pa

Proud to see @GovAndyBeshear taking such good care of my home away from home. He leads by example. Other state and federal officials should follow suit- it’s not too late to mitigate this pandemic #FlattenTheCurve#StayAtHomeAndStaySafe
Learning a new language during a pandemic is hard. Words matter! Use known words, be clear, be specific, be concrete says Mitch Stripling @PPFA during #covid19conversations webinar @theNAMedicine @PublicHealth
Social distancing is important to minimize the impact the pandemic will have on our country’s health and economy. Everyone has to do their part and sacrifice in some way. Please do your part. https://t.co/fnx3sBGSYk @RachelPatzerPhD
My spouse is a physician in the emergency dept, and is actively treating #coronavirus patients. We just made the difficult decision for him to isolate & move into our garage apartment for the foreseeable future as he continues to treat patients. (1/5)

The Executive Order on Kidney Care: An opportunity to improve outcomes for individuals with kidney disease

Thanks to my great coauthors, @KIReports, and @ArborResHealth
@cyber_wolf35@ServiceTezzla@rocket_jenross Also consider the burden of disease (organ demand) and health of population and organs. Cold ischemic time isn’t the only factor and varies across US. #OPTN tries to distribute organs across states, regions, and US to help improve access. Supply is not an issue for living donor.
@rocket_jenross@ServiceTezzla Organ supply is one factor associated with deceased donor transplant. Supply is not a factor for getting waitlisted or a living donor transplant-outcomes that patients in for-profit facilities were less likely to have. Profit status disparity was across all US regions (SupplemT).
If you're at a for-profit dialysis unit, you're about half as likely to get a transplant as if you're in a not-for-profit unit. Pitchfork time? More here:

@HCSRN@aboutKP@JAMA_current@KPGeorgia@Kidney_Research Thank you for sharing this important work. This problem has persisted for too long. For-profit facilities treat 87% of dialysis patients and comprehensive policy reform could pave the way for more patients to access kidney transplant.
