@Okanlomo_Oodua Continues to Light Up Ona Ara! 💡
The JDS Support Group celebrates another impactful intervention by our principal, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, with the distribution of 110 solar-powered streetlights across Wards 1–11 of Ona Ara Local Government Area.
The initiative, tagged “Light Up Ona Ara,” reflects Chief Sanusi’s continued commitment to supporting grassroots communities through practical interventions that can directly improve the lives of residents.
Beyond the streetlights, the initiative also strengthens grassroots engagement, with JDS Ambassadors appointed across the 11 wards to deepen communication and community participation.
This comes shortly after Chief Sanusi provided 10 bags of rice to each of the 11 wards, further demonstrating his sustained engagement with the people of Ona Ara.
The message is clear: grassroots development requires presence, partnership and action.
The JDS Support Group appreciates our community leaders, traditional institutions, ward representatives and beneficiaries for their support and cooperation.
Together, we continue to Light Up Ona Ara. 💡

2027 ELECTIONS: PVC COLLECTION BEGINS OCTOBER 9
@inecnigeria has announced that nationwide collection of newly issued Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will commence on October 9, 2026, ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Eligible Nigerians are encouraged to collect their PVCs and actively participate in the democratic process.
Your PVC. Your Voice. Your Choice.
Governor Seyi Makinde, What Does “Reset Nigeria” Mean for Local Governments?
Governor Seyi Makinde, you have presented “Reset Nigeria” as a programme for rebuilding institutions, strengthening accountability and ensuring that government works for Nigerians.
But Nigerians deserve to know what that reset specifically means for local government autonomy, funding and accountability.
So, Governor Makinde, I ask:
1. Will local government allocations go directly and transparently to democratically elected local councils, without undue control by state governments?
2. Will elected local councils have genuine control over their budgets and resources, while remaining accountable to the people they were elected to serve?
3. Will your administration, if elected President, fully uphold and implement the Supreme Court’s position on local government financial autonomy?
4. Will you support reforms that make local government elections genuinely credible and institutionally independent, rather than leaving the conduct of such elections under structures controlled by state governments?
These are not merely political questions. They are questions about how power is distributed, how public funds are managed and how citizens can hold their elected representatives accountable.
Your own current Reset Nigeria agenda speaks of responsible public finance, transparency, measurable delivery and accountable institutions.
Therefore, Nigerians deserve specifics.
Governor Seyi Makinde, what exactly will “Reset Nigeria” change about local government funding, elections, accountability and autonomy?
The country is listening 👂
Seyi Makinde has, in over seven years in office, given Oyo State people enough demolitions, displacements and controversies to make them ask a simple question:
Why has Seyi Makinde demolished more than he has built in Oyo State?
OLUBADAN FIRST CORONATION ANNIVERSARY: A CALL TO UNITY, DIGNITY AND THE PRESERVATION OF OUR HERITAGE
As we commemorate the first anniversary of the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, this occasion calls for more than celebration. It is a moment for reflection, unity and renewed commitment to preserving the sacred institution entrusted to us by our forefathers.
The Olubadan throne is bigger than any individual, political interest, disagreement or temporary ambition. People will come and go, positions will change hands and political seasons will pass, but the Olubadan stool remains an enduring symbol of the identity, history and heritage of Ibadanland.
As sons and daughters of Ibadanland and Oyo State, we have a collective responsibility to protect the dignity and sanctity of this revered institution. We must choose unity over division, wisdom over bitterness and respect over personal differences.
History will remember those who stood firmly for the preservation and honour of our traditional institutions. Our strongest response to every challenge must therefore be our unity, dignity and determination to protect what our forefathers entrusted to us.
On this first coronation anniversary, I call on all Ibadan sons and daughters, irrespective of political affiliation, social status or personal differences, to unite in the interest of Ibadanland and uphold the honour of the Olubadan throne.
May peace continue to reign throughout Ibadanland. May unity return wherever there is division, may wisdom overcome bitterness, and may the Almighty continue to preserve the Olubadan institution for generations yet unborn.
K’ade pe l’ori.
Ki bata pe l’ese.
Ki esin Oba, o jeko pe..

My dear people of Oyo State,
Today, I join the good people of Oyo State in celebrating a moment of immense pride and significance not merely because one of our own has been recognised, but because the story and achievements of an illustrious son of our state have reached the global stage.
From the ancient city of Ibadan, from the soil of Arulogun, Amb. Kunle Yusuf, FINCSD, MON, has carried the name of Oyo State to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This is more than an individual achievement. It is a reminder to every young person in Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Iseyin, Saki, Eruwa and communities across our beloved state that where you come from does not determine how far your dreams can travel.
When one of our sons stands on an international platform, the hopes, values and aspirations of the people who raised him travel with him.
We therefore celebrate Amb. Kunle Yusuff for representing values that our people hold dear—knowledge, courage, hard work, service, perseverance and commitment to humanity.
We also acknowledge the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his administration for providing opportunities for capable Nigerians to contribute to national and international service.
To Amb. Kunle Yusuff, this moment is not simply about standing within the walls of the United Nations. It represents something much greater.
It represents the child somewhere in Oyo State studying under difficult circumstances and wondering whether the world will ever hear his or her name.
It represents the young professional working quietly, faithfully and diligently without knowing when opportunity will come.
It represents the parents who sacrifice to educate their children and the communities that continue to believe that tomorrow can be greater than today.
Your journey sends a powerful message: keep preparing, keep serving and keep believing.
But with recognition comes responsibility.
May this achievement become not a destination, but another beginning—a beginning of greater service to Oyo State, Nigeria, Africa and humanity.
May your achievement open doors for others. May your voice continue to contribute to sustainable development. May your experience inspire and empower young Nigerians. And may your story remind our generation that true honour is measured not only by the platforms upon which we stand, but also by the lives we lift after leaving those platforms.
To the good people of Oyo State: this is our son, our brother and one of our own.
Let us celebrate excellence wherever we find it. Let us encourage our children to dream beyond their immediate circumstances. Let us continue producing men and women capable of representing Oyo State and Nigeria with dignity anywhere in the world.
From Arulogun to Ibadan, from Oyo State to Nigeria, and from Nigeria to the global stage, may the journey continue.
Congratulations, Amb. Kunle Yusuff, FINCSD, MON.
May Oyo State continue to produce men and women of distinction.
May Nigeria continue to create opportunities for its citizens to serve and contribute meaningfully to humanity.
May God bless the people of Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
