A NEW POLITICAL ALIGNMENT IN
In Ibadan, we welcomed Mr. Sunday Oni, a leader of the Obidient Movement in Oyo State, alongside thousands of his supporters, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The occasion was attended by the Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, our Oyo South Senatorial candidate, and other leaders of the party.
Mr. Oni spoke about his political journey, including his role in the political alliance around the 2023 elections, and his decision to align with the APC ahead of 2027. He also stated that the movement would engage across all 33 Local Government Areas.
I appreciate Mr. Oni and every member of the movement who was part of this gathering. Their decision represents an important political development in Oyo State.
In my address, I spoke about my longstanding connection to Ibadan and my experience following the affairs of Oyo State for close to 50 years of my adult life. I also spoke about my priorities for governance, including greater youth participation and attention to the wellbeing of workers and pensioners.
My running mate, Hon. Adesoji Adedeji, was also acknowledged for his role in representing and engaging with the youth population.
I also appreciate the party leaders who joined us, including Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Niran Alarape, Alhaji Taofeek Lamidi, Hon. Fatai Adesina, Dr. Adekemi Opatunde, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon. Sola Ogunbode, Olawale Sadare, Hon. Tunde Oloyede, Alhaji Shina Alabi, Hon. Sunday Aborisade, Hon. Tunde Elegbede and Comrade Olalekan Oladejo.
It was a significant gathering in Ibadan and an important moment of political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

No Youth Should Fear Answering the Call to Serve
I appeal for the immediate and unconditional release of the prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from Oyo State who were reportedly abducted while travelling to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Abia State.
The incident is deeply disturbing. These young graduates were simply answering the call to serve their country, and the NYSC was established to promote national unity and integration. They should not become victims for doing so.
I express solidarity with their families, who are living in unbearable fear and anxiety, and I urge the security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims safely. I also call for stronger security along major inter-state routes, particularly those frequently used by prospective corps members, to prevent similar incidents. No Nigerian should have to fear for their life while travelling for education, employment or national service.
I appeal to those responsible to recognise the sanctity of human life. I pray for the safe return of all the abducted corps members, and I urge the affected families to remain calm while the security agencies work to bring them home.
@SenSharafaAlli A timely and compassionate appeal. The safety of our prospective corps members must remain a priority, and every effort should be made to secure their safe and unconditional release. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families
The energy was undeniable as Oyo youths gathered in Ibadan for the final leg of the Oyo State APC Youth Geopolitical Zones Town Hall Series.
My running mate, Hon. Adesoji Adedeji engaged with the youths on the vision, priorities and direction for a new Oyo.
And beyond the numbers, the excitement and atmosphere carried a clear message:
Oyo youths are ready for a new direction.
A direction where governance is not just about speeches, but about clear priorities and measurable outcomes:
Security for All.
Autonomy for Local Governments.
Advancing Infrastructure.
Health for All.
Education and Employment.
Agricultural infrastructure, processing facilities, industries and exports.
Data-driven governance.
This is the vision behind Oyo AHEAD.
A government that moves governance closer to the people.
An economy that creates opportunities.
Infrastructure that connects communities.
Security that protects lives and livelihoods.
And decisions driven by data, not guesswork.
From one geopolitical zone to another, the conversation has remained consistent.
The youths are ready. Oyo is ready.
And from Ibadan, the message is clear:
We are not just talking about the future of Oyo. We are getting ready to build it.
Oyo AHEAD.

A NEW DIRECTION IS HERE!
I sat with citizens at the Oyo Rising Citizens Forum (ORCF) dialogue on the future of our state in Ibadan. I heard their concerns, and promises were made.
From May 29, 2027, Local Governments will be fully independent. My administration will not spend one kobo belonging to Local Governments. They will build their schools, build their health centres and employ their own workers. That is how we move Oyo AHEAD.
I promised a maximum of 30 pupils per class, a functional general hospital in each of the 33 Local Governments, a 13th month salary for civil servants, and the prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.
On the Circular Road project, I will set up a committee within 48 to 72 hours of taking office to hear the grievances of affected residents. We will not seize your land, and we will not sell state assets.
I appreciate our leaders, led by the Oyo State APC Chairman, His Excellency Moses Alake Adeyemo, Honourable Tolulope Akande Sadipe, Member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Asimiyu Alarape, Honourable Shina Alabi, the Director General of the Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation, Honourable Yemi Aderibigbe, and other State Executive members of the party.
This engagement follows the inauguration of Local Government Campaign Managers at the APC Campaign Office, Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan.
They were reminded that victory requires hard work at the grassroots. They were tasked to go to the people, strengthen our structures in every Local Government, ward and community, and to see their appointments as a call to service.
My dear people of Oyo State, our vision is clear, and I am ready to deliver. I know how much you have waited for a government that listens and serves.
This is not about individuals. It is about our collective responsibility to build a stronger Oyo.
Walk with me, and together we will take Oyo AHEAD.

@Mcfrancis4@SenSharafaAlli@NASENIHQ A project that impacts lives remains valuable regardless of when it is done. The real focus should be on the people benefiting and whether the intervention delivers lasting value, not just the timing.
Time will always reveal whether it is genuine or not
