I’ve never defended a rapist in my life.
You, however, worked hard to elect a man to the presidency who was found liable for sexual abuse by a jury of his peers. A man accused of sexual misconduct by two dozen women.
But sure, tell me more about your values.
@JethmalaniM@PriyankKharge Mahesh Jethmalani wrote 1,500 words, quoted Article 19, dragged China, invoked Lord Denning and sprinkled Latin…
All to avoid one simple word: disclose.
If RSS audits every paisa and has nothing to hide, why is the ecosystem sweating like ED just rang the doorbell?
@STCLEMSON3@NilimDutta India is not Kolkata, Delhi, or Mumbai... That is not to say that there is not caste oppression in Kolkata, Delhi, or Mumbai...
"What kind of a "dehumanizing system" makes a person from a tribal community the country's President" - Tokenism much ?
This is such a ridiculous attempt by Hindus to showcase their performative secularism to the world.
India is not secular because Hindus are uniquely secular but only because Hinduism never produced a coherent and universally accepted framework for governing a state, unlike Islam, which has an extensive legal, political and economic tradition dealing with governance, justice, taxation, contracts, public administration, foreign relations and many other aspects of collective life.
Historically, Hindu society was organized around caste hierarchies, local customs, regional traditions and competing schools of thought rather than a unified system of governance and formalizing such a hierarchy as the basis of the state would have created enormous instability and resistance in a society containing hundreds of millions of people who were historically placed at the bottom of that structure.
If Hinduism had produced a clear and universally accepted political framework, India would not still be operating under a largely secular constitutional system, especially given that political power, the bureaucracy, the media, academia and most major institutions have been overwhelmingly dominated by Hindus since independence.
Instead, even those who advocate a Hindu Rashtra cannot point to a single agreed upon Hindu legal and political model capable of replacing the existing constitutional order.
The issue has never been that Hindus are inherently secular and Muslims are inherently religious but that one religion developed a framework for governing society while the other did not.
Physical attacks are a sign of fear and cowardice.
We will continue to raise our voices peacefully. I am a follower of Gandhi and Ambedkar, and I will keep fighting this battle with peace and love.
PS: Dharmendra Pradhan must resign!
@BolaNaBC@sandeep_PT As if the appeal would immediately get attention/mitigation under this EC ... & off course there is no connection between election fraud & the evm machines burning😉
