Paulo Bernardo's departure means 16 first-team players have now left Celtic this summer, and that's excluding the B Team and Women's Team departures.

Meanwhile, Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay appear to be pushing ahead with what feels like an operation to slash the wage bill after the costly Wilfried Nancy appointment and the compensation paid out following his departure.

Sixteen out, just two in. That's simply not good enough for a club with Celtic's ambitions.

We are crying out for quality additions, the squad is getting thinner by the week, yet we're still seeing players leave with very little coming in to replace them.

With a Champions League play-off on the horizon and a long season ahead, it's becoming increasingly difficult to understand the strategy.

How on earth are Nicholson and McKay still in their positions, It's genuinely baffling. 🍀

✍️ A tricky winger who never fears taking on his man, Thomas Hatton featured as a substitute in all of Celtic's pre-season friendlies.

The 19-year-old is right-footed and capable on both flanks. He recorded five goals and three assists in 12 B-team appearances last term.

Hatton was introduced with 14 minutes remaining of Celtic's draw with Milan last Saturday and immediately caught the eye. A terrific solo run culminated in Hatton attempting an audacious long-range effort which whistled just wide of the post. He got supporters off their seats.

O'Neill has been impressed with the youngster.

"I just congratulated Tam for his spell on the field," he said post-Milan. "He's prepared to take people on. I think that's like a dying art, which is great.

"So he'll get all the encouragement in the world. He's a young lad making his way in the game. Obviously, there’s a battle on to try and get him into the side like anything else. But I was really impressed with him. As I have been impressed with his attitude during the whole pre-season."

Academy right-back Colby Donovan took his chance last pre-season and registered 28 first team appearances for Celtic in 2025/26. Hatton will hope to follow a similar path.

O'Neill is clearly a fan, and with the inconsistent Sebastian Tounekti currently the sole option ahead of Hatton at left wing, he could be called upon in the new season's infancy.

It’s far deeper than signing a few players, if you ask me Allan.

The club has targeted fans by banning ultras and media from the ground (the latter ban is now 8 months and counting).

The statement Ross Desmond read out at the AGM caused irreparable damage (and they haven’t even attempted to rebuild trust).

Peter Lawwell used his leaving statement to take a swipe at the same fans who paid his wages for over two decades.

This is cultural and the only way to change their attitude towards fans is to have a hard reset in the boardroom.
