@AnthonyFarnell The bike counter at Bloor and Pacific Ave is ~370,000 rides this year. Those rides replaced by cars would stretch from Toronto beyond Thunder Bay. That is the traffic being added to out streets.

@peggy_blair@MaritStiles Completely agree with this. The Ford bashing playbook will not work as people don't like admitting they made a mistake. She should fight for Proportional Representation so we have a government that works for the majority of Ontario.
@ElectionDigest@Penalosa_G Definitely, they never tried at all to embrace any of the change. Didn't ask cyclists to stop in. Just lazily fought for the status quo.
@Penalosa_G If those bikes are replaced with cars, the lineup would be over 900 miles long, which is the distance from Toronto to Thunder Bay, and that isn't accounting for any space between the cars. That is the congestion we would be adding to our streets.
@g_meslin You can also take comfort in the fact that nearly every transportation decision for 100 years was made in your favour, and the police have abdicated most responsibility to enforce the paltry rules that we do have. Pretty sweet deal.
@jen_keesmaat It should be obvious. If spending money on roads prevented congestion, we wouldn't have congestion, because we've spent a lot of money on roads and added a lot of lanes. But alas...here we are.
@JoshMatlow Proportional representation and a governing system that gives more autonomy to cities would be more impactful imo. Having decisions about city life from rural MPs is perverse.
