If there are any 4-5 letter MIC, MPID, MMID, PLMM or other 4-5 digit DTC / NSCC / foreign clearing broker numbers for these transactions I would like that information as well.

Lastly, if the exchange codes where the transactions occurred are available Elf would also like a copy of this data.

“South Korea may extend its total ban on short selling of stocks beyond June next year if reform measures are deemed insufficient, the country’s financial regulator said.”

The temporary ban on short selling in South Korea may have a longer stay “if the system improvements are not enough”, said Kim So-young, vice chairman at the Financial Services Commission (FSC), South Korea’s financial regulator.

Earlier in the week, South Korean President, Yoon Suk Yeol’s also gave remarks that the ban will stay in place until fundamental improvements are made to prevent more harm to retail investors, According to the Bloomberg article.

These remarks were likely well received from retail investors who argue that “the trade practice gives unfair advantages to institutional and global investors.”

TLDR: South Korea is not taking short selling lightly; this after a previous ban of naked short selling altogether.

Should the situation not improve, the FSC is ready to double down and kick the ban - can further down the road.
