I think the Pistons just have to start flopping on every shot they take. They try to finish through contact. Screw that, just fall down and act like someone stabbed you. Get rewarded with free throws. Why not when that’s all that the refs call.
Watching Pistons games in these playoffs has me questioning if the game being played is actually basketball. Steps don’t count. Flopping is always rewarded. Zero consistency on what is actually called.
The players are immensely talented, but the product is nearly unwatchable due to the officiating.
@jeremy_fears All that they can do is give you their opinion. As my dad used to say, “opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one.”
Do what’s best for you, even if I’d love it if you stuck at MSU for another year or two
@ASchatzNFL@BryKno I’d be more interested in seeing a draft report evaluating draft classes from 3 years ago and comparing that to the immediate draft reports each year.
@DarkoStateNews Their mascot is “a smelly member of the weasel family” according to Webster.
They literally do a nazi salute as part of their fight song.
Nazi Weasels.
@elonmusk suggestion for X feeds - how about letting users categorize different feeds like you can with folders? I have accounts I follow for sports, tech, business, local news and politics. I’d love an easy way to view them separately and not just all jumbled together…
@DOGE__news Which to choose…
- Florida man pulled gun at Starbucks over forgetting cream cheese on his bagel
- Florida man reported truck stolen, returned with dead woman in it
I’ve been reflecting a lot over the last few days because of the loss of Charlie Kirk. I never met him, only listened to things he talked about, and full clips of his “Prove me wrong” debates. What has become very striking to me isn’t what Charlie said, but how negative the perception of him is by some people. I suspect many people that have poor opinions of him have never listened to a full debate he has engaged in. I’ve heard many 10 second clips or quotes that paint him in a negative light. But I’ve also heard the entire discussion where those quotes or clips came from. It’s easy to find since his Prove Me Wrong discussions are all over the internet in their entirety.
In every single case I’ve heard of Charlie being labeled negatively, the full context shows a radically different position. His detractors are adept at taking a short part of what was said out of context. Smearing him because they couldn’t defeat him based on ideas. It’s pretty clear to me that social media gaslighting is stoking hatred and division instead of civil dialogue and discussion.
No one has to agree on every point. We wouldn’t be human if we all didn’t have our own opinions. But the discourse right now seems to be terribly warped from that basic premise. Maybe our short attention spans aren’t sufficient to allow a full understanding of a differing point of view.
I have always believed that you have to listen to both sides of an argument to find the truth. That it’s important to be a critical thinker and form your own opinions based on gathering as many facts as you can before coming to a conclusion. But we’re living in dangerous times when some people think it’s OK to kill someone for their opinion. Or think that someone “had it coming to them” because their opinions differ. No one deserves to die because of speech that you disagree with. This is the exact opposite of being civil. It’s just evil.
Im tired of the gaslighting. I’m tired of the rhetoric. And I’m tired of the malicious intent behind it. It’s time to listen - fully and completely to the source. It’s time to be a light for truth. And to truly believe in the freedom of speech.
This is what I feel has been missing from our political discourse - actually talking like human beings. It’s ok to disagree, but we need to stop with assumptions that the other side is evil. Listen to what they have to say.
Twelve days ago, I had dinner with President Trump, a dinner that my friend @KidRock set up because we share the belief that there has to be something better than hurling insults from 3000 miles away.
