On 7th May 2025, disaster befell this Little district, Butebo. A lorry carrying traders had a nasty accident while returning from Kapchorwa. 9 people died, all members of the same community! Since then, it has been burying, burying, tears. Today I took time to visit the 8 homes (one home lost a father and son) andcommiserate with them.
It was heart breaking to see the survivors, visibly still sick, but at home. They lost all they had, as all cattle they had bought died, and responders stripped the dead and injured of all valuables. May God heal the wounds. @GCICUganda
Bukedi region must change in our generation. It will take sacrifice, courage, patience, and focus. This is the price we must be willing to pay for Bukedi's transformation so that by 2040 every household must earn an average annual income of UGX.30 million. IMAGINE BUKEDI 2040!
On August 22nd/2024, H.E @KagutaMuseveni Launched the A First 16year Bukedi Subregion Strategic Plan 2024 -2040 during Hon. @DrMusenero's thanksgiving ceremony at Petete Primary School, Butebo. Grab a Copy of the plan through https://t.co/OiBN4y03tN.

Here is a good Ugandan story I must tell!
Yesterday (Sunday) evening I transacted at an ATM at Total Kyanja, but I only picked the card and drove away. I was exhausted and distracted.
When I reached my destination, I realized I didn’t have the money and surely I must have left it at the machine.
I drove back and arrived after about 30 minutes. I found this man, the guard, seated waiting and hoping that I’d return.
He had picked the money and badly wanted to give it to the owner!!
He handed me the man! He explained that no matter how little he earns, he has to be honest. I was humbled and grateful. Of course, I know what to do in such circumstances- gave him a good tip - a portion of the money! He was happy for that but especially that he was able to see me and return the money.
That’s my hero! @G4S you have a great staff in Geofrey! There are few people like that left.
That’s a person you’ll put in charge of distributing iron sheets to vulnerable people and he’ll deliver every single piece.
