As this is my last assignment once I hit "Tweet all" Zoom class rooms, Brightspace pages, and digital discussions end & summer officially begins! Peace 3rd year...... you were certainly an interesting one!
Top 3 Things I Have Learned This Semester On Twitter
1. Crafting & being confident in your "Twitter Personaβ’" takes a minute.....trust the process.
2. I write really long tweets and use a lot of GIFS, and no this will never stop.

3. Twitter is a bizarre place where academics come to be regular people...is Twitter the 21st century of the 1950s university pub?
A huge thank you to @smhumphreys & my amazing peers in #ENGL407 for a wonderful semester.
Another thought after reading Transmedia 101 by
@henryjenkins. It's accepted that transmedia storytelling acts as a catalyst for fan fiction, therefore, is transmedia not only effective at crafting a diverse public, but also spurring counterpublics as well? #Engl407SocialMedia
deceased fan favourite, Loki, could star in his own upcoming Disney+ series. This also makes me wonder how much of a role consumer preferences play in the choices that. companies make surrounding transmedia storytelling? #Engl407SocialMedia
The MCU was heavy on my mind while reading a great guide on transmedia storytelling by @henryjenkins this week. @Marvel is a giant in transmedia storytelling with their interconnected universe, and plethora of media delivery methods. (1/3)
I can't stop wondering, though, at what point did Marvel's transmedia marketing strategy begin driving the plot of the MCU films? 2/3. For instance, the introduction of the "multiverse" in Avengers Endgame was almost certainly fabricated so that a version of the previously
@finngoodfellow @jilltxt @smhumphreys Very true @finngoodfellow! Too bad a raw brain wave transmitter hasn't yet been developed, sure would make things more straightforward!
I find myself coming back to @jilltxt's article again. Do both social filters and technological filters serve the same purpose, acting as a barrier behind which one can hide their true nature? Help me out #Engl407SocialMedia do you think both filters inhibit authentic expression?
@smhumphreys @jilltxt Totally agree, the sheer amount of filters and filters within filters (filter-ception if you will) I've noticed since reading this article is a bit unnerving, and has me examining the conventions in my life!
I'd love to get some more opinions on this, because the more I think about it the more I find myself loathing the technological and social filters in my life!! I'd love to see more unscripted authentic depictions of people's lives instead of content bound by normative filters
Interesting point @BenJud00, I can relate! I mean I think our entire generation knows the joke about our very own "personal FBI agent" watching us through our phone cameras. Kinda of scary how surveillance capitalism has almost become the norm. #Engl407SocialMedia
Since learning about surveillance capitalism, I've been thinking: Should I even care about my digital privacy? Chances are everything about me will be leaked sooner or later anyway, so I may as well take advantage of a more personalized experience #ENGL407SocialMedia#FuckIt
Final tweet of any kind tonight. After reading some great articles about surveillance, community, and media glad I finished with @karaswisher's, "Introducing the Internet Bill of Rights." No puns or witty comments in this tweet, all I'll say is WE NEED THIS! #Engl407SocialMedia
Final @jilltxt tweet of the night (sorry, Jill, I really loved your article!) The idea of aestheticizing, or romanticizing, your life has taken off recently on TikTok. I actually think this is great, seeing the beauty and meaning in everyday life is amazing! #Engl407SocialMedia
Does this layout undermine the validity of those who choose to follow a life path that doesn't match up perfectly with social expectations and normative values? #Engl407SocialMedia 2/2
Furthermore, @jilltxt has me considering how do these filters impact our perception of reality and social norms? Facebook's filters, for example, lay out one's life in a continuous, constant, and linear fashion. 1/2
