@MayorOfLA . @MayorOfLA please issue an exemption for people who work in DTLA and for businesses. The order was issued a mere 2 hours before going into effect. People are struggling and the streets went from normal to chaotic after this curfew was issued.
@cd1losangeles So close the road. Goal accomplished. Spend the $2.5 million on something more useful than a feasibility study for something we all already know is feasible.
MacArthur Park existed for 50 years before the Wilshire Blvd extension tore through it in the 1930s. Now we're spending $2.5m to study if it's feasible. 🤔
Just put up cones, see what happens. Spoiler alert, it's a 1 min detour.
Big things are happening in MacArthur Park! Today, we celebrated securing $2.5 million to fund the launch of our Reconnecting MacArthur Park Project, which will assess the feasibility of closing off a portion of Wilshire Blvd to vehicular traffic and reconnect the park.
It looks really nice, but @metrolosangeles wayfinding still sucks... The bus number and ETA should be the largest, most visible signage, and it's literally the smallest. Compare with Paris. (Source: @humantransit)
Took my dad with me to see the new LA bus shelter so sharing our thoughts on #EarthDay. We thought it was pretty good overall (the lighting is awesome) but had some things to figure out.
April 2024 LA Metro on southern section of La Brea bus lanes. Delayed for over 2 years, Metro is now looking to pay community-based organizations to assist with more community outreach on the project.

Whyte deplored hostile architecture intended to repel “undesirables.”
"The best way to handle the problem of undesirables is to make a place attractive for everyone else."
Spiked ledges and the removal of benches are terrible for public spaces.
@StreetsblogLA@metrolosangeles@CaltransDist7 I used to commute home on the J line and remember this area being such a slow down. On a bad day it could take 15 mins just to get from 37th St stn to flower/Adams. Absolutely other ways to fix - I think they should ban cars from the HOV offramp and make it bus only
Kinda F*d that DTLA parking garages will install loud alarms, flashing lights, and signs demanding pedestrians look out for exiting cars instead of signs reminding drivers that THEY need to yield to pedestrians when they drive over a sidewalk.
@numble Did they give any reason why they're not doing continuous bus lanes along the full corridor? Sunset-Wilshire is on top of red line, gage-Athens is half mile from parallel silver line BRT. Seems like the gap in the system is between purple/expo lines.
Thanks to our regulars and newbies for riding with us today!

Can someone explain to me how wanting a metro station on the campus of the 2nd largest university in the state of CA and the 4th largest employer in the county of LA makes you "entitled"? Anyone not living under a rock would agree that UCLA deserves a metro station.
Fred Rosen of Bel Air, former Ticketmaster CEO, went to LA Metro’s Sepulveda meeting. He met “arrogant and misguided” UCLA students that felt “entitled” to station. He says there is no money for subway, and lawsuit will depose Metro Chief Planning Officer over alleged conflicts.
