Never forget 9/11 flight attendant Betty Ong.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Betty made one of the first calls warning officials that American Airlines Flight 11 had been hijacked.

She had picked up an extra flight that morning and ended up aboard Flight 11.

As the attack unfolded, Betty stayed on the phone with American Airlines for roughly 23 minutes, calmly reporting that crew members had been stabbed, the cockpit couldn’t be reached, and the plane was being hijacked.

She even relayed the hijackers’ seat locations, giving officials some of the earliest critical information about the attack.

Think about that. She picked up an extra flight that day, and in the final moments of her life, she was still trying to help others and warn the people on the ground.

Betty Ong was one of the first heroes of 9/11.

25 years later, her courage still deserves to be remembered.
