@john_mcguirk Born in Ireland, Irish Mother, and spent his whole footballing career playing in the LOI in Ireland. Probably the most “Irish” footballer ever to play in the World Cup
@NewStatesman Working class Republicanism is all about Respect and standing up for those who are oppressed. It is definitely not for attacking migrants
@JamesKingDublin@Cionnai1@Reunify32 There was volunteers raised in Coalisland, but no fighting. How is that not republican activity? That was the same as what happened in Munster, so in your opinion, Munster should be given back to Britain?
@Cionnai1@Reunify32 There was no “vision” or idea of how “new state would operate” when the free state was formed apart from Irish people being able to make decisions for themselves. To stop Irish citizens in the north being able to be part of an UI is disingenuous only coz it may be awkward for you
@Cionnai1@Reunify32 Yeh the final nail in the coffin unfortunately. The decision to spilt Derry City and Donegal with the border was disastrous for both places and an outrageous decision
@JamesKingDublin@Cionnai1@Reunify32 Well not really correct as the two of Planners of the rising, Tom Clarke was raised in Tyrone and Bulmer Hodson was born in Belfast. Then there was Patrick McCartan and the mobilisation of Volunteers in Coalisland. Get your facts right please Sir
@Cionnai1@Reunify32 I read it, and the main thing it showed was that the Free State fucked up the negotiations and left behind their fellow nationalists (especially in the border regions, Derry, Newry, South Down) in the 6 counties because they were happy enough that the free state was free
