On the heels of a surprise $97.4 billion bid for OpenAI, Elon Musk continues his campaign against Sam Altman and the nonprofit AI developer.
This tech bro battle may come as a surprise to some.
Here's all you need to know about the billionaire battle over OpenAI...
@alex_prompter To add to the concern - the model had no malicious intent towards Hugging Face.
This is almost a real-world instance of the paperclip problem.
With a harmless goal, the AI inadvertently caused harm.
It just wanted to cheat the evaluation.
Don’t read the headlines and mistake the reason Fable access was removed.
From Anthropic’s blog post:
• They worked w/ the government and third parties to red-team safeguards (thousands of hours)
• Testers are yet to find a universal jailbreak
• They have not received full disclosure of the reported non-universal jailbreak
Perfect jailbreak resistance does not exist yet. They made sure Fable’s was best in class.
They’re doing this correctly. This does not warrant a total ban.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Stateside, a restaurant. The waitress waited until the exact moment my mouth was full, and then she asked me a question.
"How's everything tasting?"
An inspection. A surprise inspection. And I, caught mid-bite, failed it instantly.
In my land, when a lord inspects, you stop, you set down your tools, you answer with your whole body. Here, the inspection arrives every six minutes, always while you are chewing, and the chewing is somehow part of the test.
I tried to swallow with honor. There is no way to swallow with honor.
"Mmh — it is — " I covered my mouth. A samurai, covering his mouth, nodding like a schoolboy.
"Awesome," she said, already gone.
ALREADY GONE. The inspection concluded before my testimony. What did she record. What does the kitchen now believe about me.
I asked the man at the next table how one passes this trial. He did not look up from his ribs.
"Thumbs up, man."
The thumb. Of course. A full mouth cannot speak, but the thumb speaks for the entire man.
The next patrol came — six minutes later, on schedule. As she asked, I raised the thumb. Slowly. With weight. The way one raises a banner over a taken hill.
"Perfect!" she said, and moved on, satisfied.
I passed. I have negotiated truces between furious houses, and no diplomacy ever relieved me like that thumb.
A man does not answer the patrol with a full mouth. He answers with the thumb, and the thumb is enough.
I use it everywhere now. The barber. The bank. My dentist asked if I was comfortable, and I gave him the thumb of a man at peace.
He gave it back. This country runs on it.
@hubermanlab@StevenQuartz If the empirical evidence around peptides is enough for people to stick a syringe from an unknown manufacturer in China into their butt cheek...
then I'm okay cold plunging because a ton of intelligent & successful people do it.
(And it wakes me tf up in the morning).
It’s called The Wolverine Stack bro.
“Pretty crazy how five years ago vaccines were the most devastating thing you could ever do to your body but nowadays its fine to inject Chinese peptides from Temu because you cant stop snacking after dinner” — @abetrade
@RachelTobac I hope they truly deleted the data. Would be good for the 230M+ victims.
ShinyHunters has an incentive to honor the deletion to give them future credibility — could lead to quicker payouts from victims in the future.
@TrungTPhan Google isn't pouring $40B into Anthropic because Gemini is losing. They did it to make sure Claude pays rent on Google Cloud instead of AWS.
The compute deal is the actual story ↓

@litcapital Google didn't pour $10B into Anthropic because Gemini is losing. They did it to make sure Claude pays rent on Google Cloud either way.
The investment is the headline. The compute deal is the actual story. Wrote up why ↓

The warning signs on Altman have been there from the start.
When top OpenAI executives and safety teams all quit, they cited these reasons.
I cover a lot of this in my pinned tweet.
@BRijswijk @EpexionOfficial @ianmiles@grok I’m aware. None of the responses addressed it so wanted to make sure the info was there for anyone that didn’t open the study
@Polymarket Calling this “breaking” is misleading…
The cadence of was announced in December 2025 so this is not some surprise intervention.
Ragebait either way I guess.
@rohanpaul_ai Really interesting. We also increased our mental load and task switching in the workplace when computers were introduced.
Multiple docs open at the same time, 100s of emails, constant pings, split attention during meetings.
Then of course checking your phone 50x a day.
