The Last Time San Francisco was Cool - 1995

Thinking about the last time I thought San Francisco was "cool". In 1995 I took a black and white photo class in high school and this was literally the last time I fully felt at home here without the 21st century blight of infotech. My requiem for the city, it was not all "beautiful" and had a melancholy charm to it. Before the invasion.

Endless mom and pop coffee shops and weather-beaten souls. A Gotham of alternative American modernity.

I imagine playing a Bernard Herrmann piece while viewing these. I miss this city, it was genuinely full of normal working joe's and artists. Pride came before the fall as the bible foretells.
