There is something so unAmerican and so disturbing about an American president demeaning and poking fun at a fellow American president in the presence of a communist leader, while the previous president is battling cancer.

It’s just so sickening.

I’m struggling with the concept of someone who goes big on the moral importance of recognising the death & devastation in Gaza, & then 2 weeks later sits down with the Foreign Minister of a regime which this year murdered tens of thousands of people over the course of 72 hours.

[JSpektor 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇮🇹 🇺🇦 @JQPublic2000]

Stop trafficking in the blood of the people of Gaza!

[Mor Edge Insight @MorEdge_Insight]

An Arab commentator sat on Lebanese television and said the sentence the Western street still treats as unspeakable. Stop trafficking in the blood of Gaza.

Islamic Jihad started the fight, not Israel. Hamas and Islamic Jihad were already in Cairo talking about a ceasefire when one of them decided to shoot two Israelis and drag the Strip into another round it did not have to fight.

He went further than most of his colleagues will ever go on camera. Israel left Gaza in 2005. What filled the vacuum was not a state. It was the Muslim Brotherhood project wearing Hamas’s face and the Iranian project wearing Islamic Jihad’s, and together they turned Gaza into a Palestinian civil war. Sinwar’s real target, he said, was Ramallah, not Jerusalem. The 2007 coup was not resistance. It was a choice.

Instead of two states they built three: a Brotherhood enclave in Gaza, an Abbas fief in the West Bank, and Israel still standing where it always stood.

That is why clips like this matter. It is not a Jewish analyst making the argument. It is an Arab voice naming the authors of the prison and refusing to hand Israel the bill. The people who wrecked every opening for a normal life are the same people now selling the wreckage as occupation.

He called a spade a spade. The region would be quieter if more of his neighbors did the same.

Who knew? (Lots of Ukrainians obviously) What an amazing humanitarian! So unlike the majority of self-aggrandising, mega yacht and rocketeering billionaires.

This is truly a great man. He has invested more in Ukraine than 185 countries combined.

Meet Howard Buffett, Warren Buffett’s middle son. He is 71 years old. He dropped out of college three times. He drinks Dr Pepper and looks for a McDonald’s wherever he travels.

Since the beginning of the war, his foundation has become the largest private donor to Ukraine: $1.4 billion.

Over four years, he has personally visited Ukraine 27 times.

In April 2022, he saw burned-out agricultural machinery and called the president of John Deere:

“How many combines are available in Europe?”

“Fifteen. All of them were supposed to go to Russia.”

“I’ll take them all.”

Then came all the available New Holland equipment in Europe. Altogether, more than 100 tractors and combines were provided to Ukrainian farmers.

He even tested demining equipment himself - on his own farm in Illinois, detonating explosives beneath rollers. When a Ukrainian deputy minister expressed doubts, Buffett told him:

“Stop counting my tractors. If necessary, I’ll blow up a thousand of them.”

Andriy Stavnitser initially asked him for $1 million for Superhumans. Buffett asked how much was needed to build the entire center.

“$14 million.”

“Okay. And what do you expect in return?”

“Nothing. Build it.”

Today, his support for Superhumans has reached $77 million, and the center has treated more than 1,700 patients.

But his largest area of spending is neither agricultural machinery nor prosthetics.

It is food: 642 million meals.

And that is only part of it:
* 344,000 windows replaced after Russian attacks;
* 9 bridges, 4 power plants, 2,500 generators, and 18 DNA laboratories;
* Much of Bucha rebuilt with his funding.

“I already have more friends in Ukraine than I do at home,” he says.

He celebrates birthdays in Ukraine, comes for Christmas, and even has a Ukrainian godson.

Friends, this is truly a great man - someone who understands that he cannot take all his money with him when he leaves this world.

I simply want to thank him and wish him well.

Whatever else one may say, this is real help from a person who had no personal obligation to Ukraine.

He simply chose to help.

"This is what dictatorship looks like."

[Roman Sheremeta 🇺🇸🇺🇦 @rshereme]

In April 2022, a 12-year-old Russian girl named Masha Moskalyova was told in art class to draw a picture supporting russian troops in Ukraine.

Instead, she drew a Ukrainian mother protecting her child as russian missiles flew toward them.

On the Ukrainian flag she wrote, “Glory to Ukraine.” On the russian flag: “No to war. No to Putin.”

Her school reported her to the authorities.

Police began investigating her father, Alexei Moskalyov, a single father who had raised Masha largely on his own. They searched his social media and discovered posts criticizing russia’s invasion and documenting russian atrocities in Bucha.

In December 2022, around a dozen russian security officers raided their home. They ransacked it, seized their computers, phones, and savings.

Alexei later said that during interrogations, officers beat him and slammed his head against the wall and floor. They blasted the russian national anthem at full volume while questioning him.

Eventually, the regime charged him with repeatedly “discrediting” the russian military because of his anti-war social-media posts.

Masha was taken away from him and placed in a state “social rehabilitation” center.

Alexei was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.

He later described horrific conditions there: a tiny punishment cell roughly two meters long, freezing temperatures, rats crawling out of the sewer, and days when he was forced to stand for as long as 16 hours because the bunk was locked against the wall.

Meanwhile, his daughter wrote to him.

“Dad, don’t give up.”

“You are my hero.”

They were separated for more than a year and a half.

On October 15, 2024, Alexei finally walked out of prison.

Masha was waiting for him.

Five days later, they fled russia.

They first escaped to Armenia and applied for a German humanitarian visa. After waiting for more than a year, their case stalled when Germany suspended the relevant humanitarian admission program.

Then France stepped in.

In March 2026, Masha and Alexei received French humanitarian visas and flew to Paris.

And on July 17, 2026, France granted them political asylum.

Today, Masha is drawing again and hopes to pursue art. She also writes and has spoken out in support of russian political prisoners.

When asked whether, knowing everything that happened afterward, she would still have made that drawing, Masha said she would.

“One only lives once.”

One drawing.

A child saying no to war.

And for that, the russian state destroyed their home, separated a father from his daughter, imprisoned him, and drove them both into exile.

This is what dictatorship looks like.

A beautiful message from 15 months ago. #SlavaUkraïni always

[Illia Ponomarenko 🇺🇦 @IAPonomarenko]

Just a thought:

Ukraine’s President is Jewish.
Our Defense Minister is a Muslim, a Crimean Tatar.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is an ethnic Russian.
Our top drone ace — recently awarded the title Hero of Ukraine — is an ethnic Hungarian.
Over 70,000 women serve in the military now.
Almost all of the most renowned combat medics are women.
The revolution that changed this country forever began with a Facebook post by an ethnic Afghan Pashtun, a prominent Ukrainian journalist.
And in our parliament, we have a Black MP — an Afro-Ukrainian and universally admired Olympic champion.

All of this — in a country that is still, for the most part, Slavic.

On the streets of Kyiv today, you’ll see halal restaurants for Muslim tourists standing peacefully next to Jewish eateries. Nearby are a museum and a monument to Sholem Aleichem, and a plaque bearing the face of Golda Meir, who once lived here.

Among our main landmarks: 19th-century synagogues. Just a short walk away — a large mosque and Muslim cultural center. And above all, of course — the ancient Christian churches and monasteries that are the oldest and most significant in the East Slavic world.

I still can’t get over the fact that Ukraine’s chief Muslim mufti (an ethnic Tatar from Donetsk) stepped down to serve as a frontline paramedic in the army. That our chief rabbi works tirelessly every day to help Ukraine across the globe — and that his adopted son died fighting for Ukraine, weapon in hand.

For many years now, a giant glowing menorah has stood each Hanukkah in the heart of Kyiv’s main square. And on Independence Day, every religious denomination gathers in Saint Sophia Cathedral to offer prayers for Ukraine, each in their own rite.

Just as they all come together for remembrance at Babyn Yar and the Holodomor monument.

The more you look at the world, the more often you realize how much healthier Ukrainian society has become when it comes to coexistence between nationalities and faiths.

We weren’t always like this. We are becoming this now — as the country is being radically transformed by revolution and by the defense against imperial Russia.

We are shedding the weight of so many remnants of the past — really fast.

Just recently in May, Ukraine held its WWII commemorations — with poppies and the slogan “Never again!”

What a stark contrast to the satanic frenzy of Russia’s “Victory Day,” with its death cult, its “We can do it again!” bravado, and its glorification of dying for the Tsar.

Against the backdrop of war, Ukraine is living through a real national and cultural renaissance. We are rediscovering the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian books, music, cinema — as something precious.

And for how many decades were we taught to look down on everything Ukrainian — as “third-rate,” “peasant,” “inferior”?...

I walk the streets of Kyiv on Christmas (December 25th, not January 7th as demanded by Moscow priests) and see bands of children in traditional embroidered clothes carrying colorful Bethlehem stars and singing carols. “Ukrainian Christmas” is returning to these lands as a vibrant cultural tradition.

On Easter, crowds gather near Saint Sophia Cathedral for picnics and spring dances. In the old city above Podil, I often hear youth pounding out Cossack songs on drums. I always see many people at our nation’s sacred places — the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the cathedrals of Lviv, the Motherland Monument, the old castles.

We haven’t suddenly become devout believers. We’ve simply come to take pride, like never before, in being Ukrainian — in treasuring our traditions, our culture, our history, and our way of life, in our own country.

New traditions keep being born in wartime, against all odds.

Today, we honor war veterans by inviting them to make the symbolic first kick at football matches — and then we give them a standing ovation from the stands, for their service.

I could go on like this for hours.

What I’m trying to say is — I love what Ukraine is becoming.

This hope — breaking through unspeakable pain and hardship — feels like a light piercing the tunnel.
Ukraine now, and Ukraine 12 years ago, are two completely different countries.

The road ahead is brutally hard, but if only — if only our Ukraine can survive this war for its very existence.

“long-range sanctions” 😎 @ZelenskyyUa still has his comedy chops

[Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський @ZelenskyyUa]

Today, Ukraine's long-range sanctions successfully struck important targets in Russia's Krasnodar and Stavropol regions – logistics hubs involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment, and other gear – as well as another oil depot. In the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, a tanker and four cargo ships from Russia's shadow fleet were also hit. We thank all our warriors in Ukraine's Defense Forces for these results. We are, quite justly, bringing the war back home – to Russia. Peace is needed, and Ukraine has presented the Russian side with every proposal. They must be forced to turn to diplomacy. Glory to Ukraine!

[Illia Ponomarenko 🇺🇦 @IAPonomarenko]

Holy shit.

Madyar’s Birds took out 8 Russian tankers, 1 cargo ship, and 1 ferry from the shadow fleet in a single night (!).

At this point, Ukraine is effectively seizing control not only of the northern Black Sea, but of the entire Sea of Azov as well.

An important step in relations with Hungary – today, the funds and valuables of Oschadbank that were seized by Hungarian special services in March of this year were returned. At the time, the Hungarian side unlawfully detained Ukrainian cash-in-transit officers. We brought our people back sooner, and now both the funds and the valuables are back on Ukrainian territory in full. I am grateful to Hungary for its constructive approach and civilized step. I thank everyone on Ukraine’s team who fought for a fair decision and defended the interests of our state and our people. Glory to Ukraine!
