@magi_jay@SJojo47@Ok_Solly@SenateDems@SenSchumer There was s/t that resonated with rank-and-file Mainers at town halls. And I don't think it was his Israel stance. The bigger question to consider is: what feelings/problems motivated Mainers to support Platner, and how should those be addressed?
@magi_jay@SJojo47@Ok_Solly@SenateDems@SenSchumer What worries me is that many anti-Platner folks seem more interested in taking a victory lap in their War on the Left than getting to the root of what led so many Mainers to embrace Platner. Blaming podcasters and PACs is easy, but overstates their influence.
@magi_jay@trouble_man90 If he gets pushed off the ballot, it won't be quickly, efficiently, or without creating a spectacle. I doubt he'll drop out even in the case of a scandal. In which case you had better start organizing a Murkowski-style write-in campaign for the general.
One thing I've heard in the wake of the A.J. Brown trade that is driving me crazy: "The Patriots are a top 5 offense now."
New England's 2025 rankings:
Points: 2nd
Yards: 3rd
EPA/play: 3rd
EPA/DB: 1st
TD/Dr: 3rd
Pts/Dr: 4th
Passing yards: 4th
Passing TDs: 5th
Pass success%: 1st
Explosive play%: 1st
Explosive pass% 1st
Want to say it was the schedule?
Offensive DVOA: 3rd
Passing DVOA: 2nd
Patriots were already comfortably in the top 5.
@ChrisSosa Shouldn't that be telling for so-called "Normies" on this platform -- that many people, and not just DSAers, have *genuine* issues with party leaders, their priorities, and their messaging? My takeaway is Schumer et. al. are seen by many Ds as a liability, regardless of ideology.
@TheSWPrincess Just give up on the seat and focus elsewhere. Mills, even if she gets nominated, is a guaranteed loser. At least money that would have been spent in ME can be spent in AK, OH and IA.
@Lethargic_Logic@umichvoter R+5 PVI. Basically the same as Boebert's old district (CO-03), the Colorado Springs district (CO-05), Jacksonville and its suburbs (FL-04), Daytona Beach/Orlando suburbs (FL-07), and South Jersey/Pinelands (NJ-02).
I'm not convinced Lahn is meaningfully weaker than Feenstra.
Feenstra ended the primary with $149,000, while Lahn can self-fund. And I think a lot of Iowa's populist types would have chosen Rob Sand over an establishment suit like Feenstra, but Lahn better scratches their itch.
@admcrlsn Bodnar, like Osborn, was never going to win anyway. People still see the indies as default Democrats and attribute that baggage to the candidates.
@brianros1 Tossup at best. In the Senate race, Hinson had a no-name challenger, and Republicans still out-voted Democrats, who had a competitive primary.
