Random facts: In South Africa, a participant may lawfully record a conversation without the other party’s knowledge or consent. RICA s 4(1) expressly permits interception by a ‘party to the communication’ (unless done to commit an offence). Also see in S v Kidson 1999 (1) SACR 338 (W). You are not “bugging” anybody. As long as one participant permits and knows. Basically. These are typically referred to as “participant recordings”. It’s kind of like digitising your memory or written notes you take when at a meeting and then being sure of what transpired. 🙏
FROM PIETER DU PLESSIS.
This morning at around 8:00, our car broke down on the off-ramp from the R300 onto the N2. Without any warning, it simply lost all power and came to a complete stop.
We called our insurance to arrange a tow truck and asked a friend to come and fetch us. Sitting stranded on that stretch of road was unsettling. Many people in Cape Town know its reputation, and we couldn’t help but feel vulnerable while we waited.
Just a few minutes later, Officer Lerato Moletsane stopped behind us. She immediately checked that we were safe and stayed with us until the tow truck arrived and our friend collected us.
Officer Lerato, thank you for your kindness, professionalism and willingness to help complete strangers. Your presence brought us real peace of mind at a stressful moment. People like you remind us that there are still dedicated public servants who genuinely care.
It’s heartbreaking that so many South Africans feel anxious when they find themselves stranded on the side of the road. We hope for a future where no one has to fear for their safety in moments like these.
Thank you again, Officer Lerato. We will never forget your kindness.
WELL DONE OFFICER LERATO.
@RenaldoGouws Troubling.
Perhaps the ANC “Government” should consult International Investors— rather than spirits— about the South African sovereign bonds risk now that debt to GDP is 80%.
A South African High Court judge has been on paid sick leave for eight years. This extended absence has cost taxpayers at least R22 million. The reason he didn't step down is because he believes the ancestors would be upset and keep him blind.
First road trip jhb to DBN in 20 yrs... 100ks out of JHB the road works began and never let up until at destination... Well done for that... But the number of trucks, heavy articulated vehicles that share the road with you is insane... I thought driving to Mpumalanga was bad! Anyway, never again
🇿🇦 As usual, the useless ANC has shown what a bunch of wankers they are ‼️
Sport ministry steps in over Springbok imagery at Bokkie week. The Ministry of Sport, Arts & Culture says it will check the facts after reports that organisers of Bokkie week used green-and-gold colours and Springbok imagery at their annual event
The ANC have been trying to get rid of the Springbok as the South African rugby emblem for years so they can put the stupid Protea logo in place of the Springbok - they, sniff, sniff, associate it with Apartheid. (I'm not even going to go there today).
Let's see what happens. My bet is that the Springbok will slowly disappear, just like democracy in South Africa.
@GaytonMcK
Black Business Chamber; Black Advocates Forum; Xhosa tribal school; Zulu dances, Muslim beliefs etc.
Hypocrites! Why is this suddenly a problem after 35 years? Go pick a fight with the Zulus and tell them they can't hold "initiations." I’d like to see what happens then.
@cjd2510@JvanLogg Vodacom sends the caller ID (or not?) if you have CLIP enabled (caller line id presentation); it's not up to the caller, suggesting Vodacom has cut a deal with them...
The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition officially gazetted the Consumer Protection Act Amendment Regulations, 2026 on spam calls. Effective from 15 April 2026. If a company calls you without your prior consent they are breaking the law. And yet, I still get them. What can one do? 🙏
For two days now, Putin is a laughing stock on social media.
(By the way, note that the workshop of the plant has been cleared of people completely.)
Following his visit to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, Putin issued an ultimatum to increase the flight range of the MS-21, even though the base model still hasn't been put into serial production for over 10 years, and its release has been postponed yet again, this time to 2027.
Due to sanctions and having to replace Western parts with heavier Russian analogs, the MS-21-310 aircraft gained a lot of weight. As a result, its actual flight range dropped from the promised 5,100 km down to 3,830 km.
To meet the range requirements, "Rostec" officials simply proposed shortening the aircraft's fuselage (the MS-21-210 version), reducing the number of passenger seats to 140. This "smaller plane, fewer problems" approach became a separate source of memes about Russian innovations.
When Putin was told the expected range of the shortened version would be 5,000 km, he calculated with dissatisfaction: "It's 5 thousand to fly here (from Moscow to Irkutsk). We need more!".
However, with such a range, the plane would only be able to reach Siberia one way, with no possibility of returning without refueling.
It would be nice if Putin himself flew on this version of the plane. One way.
The narrative that Cyril Ramaphosa was just an innocent, helpless bystander during Jacob Zuma's nine wasted years of state capture is one of the most carefully manufactured political lies in modern South African history.
You cannot serve as the literal Deputy President of the country and the ruling party from 2014 to 2018, sitting at the right hand of the most corrupt administration in Mzansi's history, and then claim you had absolutely no idea the state was being systematically hollowed out by a mafia syndicate.
His real role in the Zuma looting machine alone should have permanently disqualified him from ever holding the presidency.
Somebody explain to me like I'm in Grade R...
Why should South Africans 🇿🇦continue to pay almost 50% of their salaries to this current UNCARING & UNPATRIOTIC government?

🇿🇦SOUTH AFRICA IS NOT COLLAPSING BY ACCIDENT‼️
There comes a point where a nation must stop lying to itself. South Africans have been told for decades that the destruction unfolding around them is merely “incompetence.” That every failure is accidental. Every collapse unfortunate. Every scandal isolated.
But the pattern has become too large. Too coordinated. Too destructive. Too consistent.
Ports fail. Rail collapses. Power stations decay. Roads deteriorate. Water systems break. Crime explodes. Corruption spreads. Businesses flee. Communities become divided. And every year the instability deepens.
At what point does society stop calling this dysfunction — and start recognizing systematic decay?
Millions of South Africans no longer believe the country is simply being mismanaged. They believe it is being hollowed out. Not by one event. Not by one policy. But by a political culture that thrives on dependency, division, fear, and instability while criminal syndicates, corrupt networks, and political elites feed off the collapse.
The evidence of state capture, organized corruption, criminal infiltration, infrastructure sabotage, procurement fraud, extortion mafias, and collapsing law enforcement is overwhelming. These are not conspiracy theories anymore. These are documented realities exposed by commissions, investigative journalists, whistle blowers, businesses, and citizens across every sector of society.
And yet the destruction continues.
Why? That is the question more South Africans are now asking openly.
Because when instability becomes permanent… when corruption becomes systemic… when race is constantly weaponized… when criminality penetrates institutions… when economic sabotage becomes normalized… when shutdown politics and intimidation become routine… people begin to suspect that the chaos itself serves powerful interests.
A divided nation is easier to control. A dependent population is easier to manipulate. A weakened private sector is easier to dominate. A fearful society is easier to govern.
This is why so many South Africans no longer see isolated failures. They see a pattern. A pattern where the productive foundations of the country are slowly eroded while political power consolidates around networks of patronage, ideology, and control.
The greatest tragedy is that South Africa should be one of the strongest countries in the world.
This nation has extraordinary people. Engineers. Farmers. Entrepreneurs. Workers. Scientists. Communities with resilience, skill, and determination.
But instead of building the future, the country is trapped in endless cycles of corruption, racial division, collapse, and crisis management.
And ordinary citizens pay the price.
Not the elites. Not the politically connected. Not the syndicates feeding off the system.
The people. The workers. The taxpayers. The families. The communities trying to survive while the foundations of the nation crack beneath them.
South Africans are tired of being told not to believe their own eyes. They can see what is happening. And increasingly, they are no longer afraid to say it.

That is all the ANC is good for. They can steal, corrupt, loot and lie. Their only function. They are like a disease.

🚨ANC THUGS TRIED TO INTIMIDATE CILLIERS BRINK AT THE SCHOOL, HE DIDN’T TAKE THEIR SHIT AND HOLD THEM “THIS HAS BLOODY NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU‼️” PRETORIA – WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF THE BLACK ANC ANYMORE‼️
These ANC political thugs thought they could roll up with their black aggression, fold their arms and bully Cilliers Brink into
silence at Railway Secondary School. They came to block parents from speaking, to protect their little racket, and to make sure real problems stayed hidden. Big mistake‼️
Brink was there because parents invited him to deal with actual issues, a tavern right next to the school gates selling alcohol to kids, broken services and ANC-style neglect‼️
The ANC thugs didn’t like that. They started with the usual script: “You fired our people!” “Who called you?” “It’s none of your business!”
Brink stood there and didn’t flinch. He told them straight: this is a public space, these are real parents with real problems and this has got bloody nothing to do with you‼️
The aggression got louder and posturing got bigger. “Go away! I will never go away!” they shouted, trying to chase an elected representative off public ground like they own the place‼️ They repeated “none of your bloody business” like broken robots while dragging in old names and playing the victim.
Brink’s response was ice cold and crystal clear: I will speak to whoever I want to‼️
That’s when their whole tough-guy act collapsed. The same men who arrived ready to intimidate suddenly looked weak, exposed and pathetic🔥
Their power only works when people are scared, the moment someone refuses to bow, they have nothing left but empty noise‼️
This is the ANC’s real face in too many places, not service delivery, not fixing schools, not protecting children from taverns poisoning the next generation‼️ Just muscle sent to shut down accountability and protect their own.
People of Pretoria:
We are not afraid of the black ANC, their thugs, their aggression, their "none of your business" anymore or their
attempts to silence anyone who actually tries to clean up the mess they created🔥
The era of rolling over while they protect taverns next to schools and block parents from being heard is over.
Cilliers Brink showed exactly what needs to happen‼️Stay calm, firm and refuse to be intimidated🔥 Tell the political enforcers straight to their faces: this has got bloody nothing to do with you.
Pretoria is waking up, the fear game is finished‼️
🎬🥊 You’ve got to love Cilliers Brink’s attitude and burning ambition to succeed in his political career🫡
I know many Russians think that ending the war in Ukraine and withdrawing completely would be a “total disaster and humiliation.” 🇷🇺🇺🇦
Well, look back at Nazi Germany.
They also had opportunities to end the war much earlier and probably keep at least some of their pride, Instead, they followed their deranged leader, Hitler, all the way to the end.
You know what happened next, right?
Hitler killed himself in a bunker, and Nazi Germany was forced to unconditionally surrender, giving back everything it had taken, and much more.
Don’t let your own Hitler put you in that position.
There is still time to avoid total disaster. Withdraw from what isn’t yours, end this war, and save what can still be saved, your country, your future, and whatever national pride remains.
Every day this war continues, the price Russia will eventually pay grows even higher.
@chrishartZA Your salaries are taxed to high heavens, then you manage to put some already taxed money into a savings account and then you get taxed on the interest earned. That's utter BS & daylight robbery! We must end their theft for them! #TaxRevolt
@chrishartZA The bigger problem for me is the taxation of people's pensions and retirement investments, this should be abolished.
That money has already been taxed 3 times over.
