AOC: Schedule I drugs are supposed to have no potential for medical use and a high risk for abuse and addiction. What are some examples of Schedule I drugs?
Dasgupta: Cannabis, LSD, ecstasy.
AOC: Is there zero evidence that they have no potential medical application?
Dasgupta: I think the medical literature is clear that they do have clinical benefits.
AOC: So right now, our law says that these drugs have zero medical application, but the science says something else.

-Freqnt updates & more accurate info
-Gauging families understanding
-Explore pt's pref/values
- allow "thinking" brain to start processing.
Wish pts & fams had convo w/ more depth and breadth b4 Hospital, but part of job in ICU to work w/fam thru this process.

This is not infrequent. If families have not had EOL/goals of care conversations prior to acute illness/ER/ICU admission, they often are overwhelmed by the setting (/ER/ICU), situation (acute decomp/ lots of information but little clarity) & emotional thinking can dominate

Best media piece I’ve consumed all year. While I personally disagree(d) with Gaines’ stance on transgender athletes in sports, her take was a common take on a very nuanced and layered subject. There was once a human, compassionate element to her words. Talk to 10 different people at your local gas station and you’ll get 10 different answers, some more concise, others lengthy.
This was probably the first podcast I’ve ever listened to (dead serious)… absolutely incredible job capturing the timeline and development of that raw, seemingly more authentic reaction from Gaines into a political business model. It shows the distortion that occurred at each stage… And how Gaines really trimmed all the fat (nuance) to make a national political career out of this.
It’s disheartening to see the issue of predation from authority figures in women’s sports not receive nearly the same amount of attention. There are so many brave women in sports and speaking up, whatever their views may be. I love how you seek out those stories on the ground level… going where the money is not, just as you do the other way. Those perspectives in particular are so incredibly valuable because they aren’t distorted by money, nor fame, nor attention… That’s where the authenticity is greatest… Just simply a yearning to share what they believe to be the truth.
This is the best form of journalism, to me. It’s so incredibly refreshing, and it feels like a breath of fresh air… especially in this day and age of social media (and media in general) where every post or piece is tailored to fit some business or political purpose… very little is genuine.
Thank you, Pablo.
I know we're having fun, but imagine how much MORE fun it would be to live in a functioning democracy where two fragile billionaires crashing out didn't impact, say, rural hospital closures.
Who has calculated ApacheIV scores?
U are suppsed 2 take wrst lab initial 24hrs
Ex.Floor pt has Cr 3.0@4am. Admit to ICU@6am. Cr@8pm is 2.6
Which Cr used? What if in ED@4am w/3.0 &admit 2 ICU@6am? Same? And does 24 hrs stop@MN or independt of calendar day? #ICU#Pulmcrit
Anyone have any insight in 1. Diff between APACHE IV and IVb? 2. Which is current standard for predicted mortality (I assume its IV) and any links to calculators for IVb? #MedTwitter#pulmcrit#ICU#emcc#medical#MedEd
@JordanSchachtel@IsraelWarRoom as an academic and longtime student of public speaking....
I am deeply embarrassed for her. This is a cringeworthy and ill-prepared presentation. If i was grading her, it wouldn't be good.
🙋♂️ AMAZING!- Intubated ICU patients using VR platform technology to exercise in bed & escape for a brief vacation!
👉 Still critical to walk & mobilize intubated patients as well!
❓What do you think?
❓Would you use this?

The average person undergoes more than 30 big life changes.
Marriage. Divorce. Kids. School. Graduating. Moving. Becoming sick. Recovering. Starting jobs. Leaving jobs.
The list goes on and on.
Yet our models for navigating change are old and outdated. Here's a better way:
They wasted 2 of the most prime years a RB has ever had because they wouldn’t fix the rest of the offense, namely the play calling past 2 years. Derrick Henry needs a ring before he retires. Please…
