After a year waiting for the new international development strategy, it feels quite light on.... well international development 🧵(1/n) https://t.co/eX1Riar3cD
There are some very good things in the strategy too: lots of talk of the long-term, patient approach to development (yay!); focus on transparency in investments; promise to push international actors to work on prevention more than humanitarian response; ODA to focus on LICs.

Und ich küsse die Herzen aller, die heute in NRW in der Deutsch-Abi-Klausur "Sprache und Sein" gewählt haben. Möget ihr mit Bestnoten beschenkt werden! ♥️
"International aid agencies and donors...have to redefine what success looks like. Its no longer about how much $$ you raise or how big your operational delivery is
-but how you set up those at the local level for success" @HebaJournalist@newhumanitarian https://t.co/Ph2nPYiOHM
"Decolonization must include racial justice [and vice versa]. We need to look at shifting power with much more political intent rather than an instrumentalized, technical approach." ~Saranel Benjamin of @oxfamgb on #ShiftThePower in the mouths of INGO leaders
"#PositiveDeviance (based on respecting the systems&communities ability to solve problems) has been around for 20-30years - but hasnt caught on in the #AidBusiness because its not a project& doesnt fit in the mental/funding landscape of aid"@fp2p@OxSIDorg https://t.co/ea2xm6l0VM
