We got a comment on a fire rebuild that just says PC-1. We emailed the plan checker and got a response 3 weeks later telling us to "check the portal".
After a trip in person and talking to multiple people - the issue was a software bug and their solution was to "email IT".

The Very First Palisades Fire Home Rebuilt in Only 6-8 months!!
The fires in LA one year ago were absolutely devastating.
This time one year ago, we were evacuated. Scared. Not sure what was happening next. We will remember it forever.
But today, Los Angeles is healing. Rebuilding. Flourishing.
Yesterday marks the day the first home has been officially rebuilt in Pacific Palisades -- and yes, it happened in only 6-8 months! Wow!
Make no mistake -- this is not because of our politicians -- this is because of the incredible hard-work and innovations of our startups and private industry.
This phenomenal accomplishment was made possible by an amazing startup, Cover @coverbuild run by their fantastic CEO @alexisxrivas - they build end-to-end absolutely beautiful homes and backyard studios.
Expect to see many more homes stood up by Cover like this across Los Angeles! What an incredible story. What a beautiful home.
Hyperspeed @hyperspeedvc (my fund) was fortunate enough to invest in Cover during their seed stage back in 2015 after my friend @bonatsos recommended I check them out. Amazing work by the Cover team, you should all be incredibly proud.

We completed the first ground-up homeowner fire rebuild in Pacific Palisades for Sue Labella and her family.
Permits submitted: May
Foundation: July
Completed: December
Certificate of Occupancy: Jan 7th, 2026
@MayorOfLA how’s this fair to any fire victims? And top of it, your inspectors are no call no show on pre planned inspection today despite hours spent calling the inspector.
This needs to be fixed and people need to be hold accountable.
It’s been a year since the Palisades fires. LA City Council still hasn’t voted to waive rebuild fees.
One homeowner rebuilding the same-size home has already paid ~$20k in city permit and related department fees.
This is what “support” looks like.
2025 marked a big step forward for Cover.
We expanded from backyard homes into ground-up main homes.
We delivered the fastest detached ADU in LA City's history.
We completed the first custom fire rebuild in the Pacific Palisades, with a second underway and our first Altadena rebuild in the final stage.
Projects are now underway across 8 Southern California cities.
We ramped deliveries over 3×.
And today, we received our first permit for a 2-story Cover home.
Onward to 2026!
@rileymeik@PalmerLuckey LA times wouldn’t post this without reviewing with TJH. They are equally responsible for lying. If TJH had little bit of moral compass, they would have corrected LA times editor themselves.
