The fake urgency created by corporate jobs kills me. We’re not doctors, we don’t work in an ER, and we’re not paramedics or firefighters. We work in spreadsheets. You don’t need to circle back for a response an hour later.

🚨 EXCL: Djed Spence suffered broken jaw during Tottenham Hotspur loss at Chelsea. 25yo right-back picked up injury in challenge with Liam Delap but expected to play for #THFC v Everton on last day of Premier League season in protective mask @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/Pal7Tzetqt
Fairly confident that Stuart Attwell booked Cucurella because he thought it was before the corner was taken, but then got himself in a pickle as if it’s a foul then it’s a penalty. So VAR decided not to intervene because it would’ve made him look stupid.
This is an extraordinary decision. So much of law interpretation now is about protecting players and reacting strongly to high feet, exposed studs etc, and yet this — which is absurdly reckless, intentional or otherwise — earns a booking. https://t.co/P8JCDjFhwd
We’ve been terrible this season. Even at times in tonight’s game it was hard to watch because of just how bad we were. So it’s not an excuse.
But every single week since the Sunderland game we have had the most ridiculous decisions you can imagine go against us. Decisions that aren’t even up for debate. Blatant, obvious. To everyone I speak to. Nailed on red cards. Nailed on penalties. An endless line of nothing free kicks that are given against us but never given for us. A manager who is being micromanaged by the 4th official in a way I’ve seen no other manager treated this season.
It will serve as no consolation if we do go down. But it’s been an absolute disgrace and you’ve got to the point where you just know you’re not going to get a thing. That one down there. Where a player doesn’t look at the ball once, knows exactly where Spence is, and chooses to go in with his elbow. It’s like we’re living in a dream
Men playing games for a few hours a week was never the real problem.
People binge Netflix for 6 hours straight and nobody says a word. Someone hops on a game after work and suddenly it’s a “crisis.”
If the bills are paid, the kids are happy, the relationship is healthy, and life is handled… it’s called having a hobby.
Most people have a completely wrong idea of what “average” looks like in running.
They compare themselves to race results, Strava feeds, people who actually sign up and show up. But that’s already a filtered group. Those numbers don’t represent the general population… they represent the ones who are already committed.
A typical 5K around 34 minutes, 10K around 1:12, half marathon 2:30, marathon over 5 hours… even those are coming from people who trained enough to get to the start line.
The reality is a lot simpler.
Most people can’t run these distances nonstop at all.
So if you can get through a 5K, a 10K, even just keep running without stopping…
you’re already further ahead than you think.
And if you’ve been beating yourself up over pace…
you might be comparing yourself to a group that was never average to begin with
Adult men gaming for a few hours a week is not the crisis people make it out to be. Most adults need some kind of low stakes escape, and women have their own versions of that too. What matters is balance. If the bills are paid, the kids are handled, the relationship is not being ignored, and the house is not falling apart, playing a game is just playing a game.
@DavidDack If your first reaction to someone’s run is to check their pace instead of respecting the effort…
that’s a you problem, not a them problem.
Just remember:
Your watch time isn’t a personality trait.
And if this post annoyed you a little…
ask yourself why.
Sound familiar?
This photo was taken in 1946.
The guy is Ken Shimizu. He is 35 years old with two children.
Shimizu never runs, sleeps late, eats whatever he wants, even drink beer instead of water. He eats dinner with many kinds of food every night.
What does Shimizu do to get such a body? Shimizu doesn't have any secrets.
Shimizu is the person sitting in the bottom left corner of the photo.

THE YEAR THAT FOOTBALL DIED (2026)
We are only in March and already three major incidents have happened that have brought “FOOTBALLS” integrity into question
1) CHELSEAGATE • The club has been charged with multiple beaches of financial misconduct. Four of the players that won the Premier League in 2017 with Chelsea were purchased illegally by the club. One of whom won the player of the year that season (Eden Hazard) and the other three were regular starters for them (Matic, Luiz & Willian)
Everton were charged with something similar and faced a 10 point deduction, while Chelsea have had a much lenient penalty of a fine and a transfer embargo
FAIRNESS RATING 1/10
2) AFRICAGATE • The final of the African Cup of Nations final was one of the most controversial to happen. Only couple months ago Morocco battled Senegal in the final, which happened to be laden with crazy incident after incident. To cut a long story short, Morocco were awarded a dubious penalty. The Senegal players then proceeded to walk off the pitch. After a long amount of time they reluctantly re entered the game, the penalty was missed and Senegal went on to win the trophy. We’ll that’s what they thought until yesterday when Senegals win was voided and the trophy was awarded to the host nation Morocco
FAIRNESS RATING 3/10
3) THOMASPARTEYGATE • Now we are not going to even mention the “dark arts”, the set piece in the box brawls or the constant on the field cheating. Instead we will focus on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal “allegedly” knowing about the severity of Thomas Partey’s crimes and still playing for him for the better part of two years. When he was in the police station the manager down played it as an injury while smirking at the camera. A total of 7 girls have come forward so far, now that number might sound big but it’s nothing in comparison to the amount of goals Arsenal have scored from corners. Only when the club realised that the player had no defence they cut ties
FAIRNESS RATING 2/10
All these incidents have brought what was once known as the beautiful game into utter disrepute
Will something be done to remedy all the incidents above
ONE CAN ONLY HOPE AND PRAY 🙏🏼
