@Birdseed501 I passed mine in the June of 1982 at 612VGS at RAF Benson flying the Venture T2 motor glider. If my memory serves me right, for the final test circuit, the take off was performed under power, you then cut the engine on the down wind leg, finishing with a glide approach/landing.

Today we remembered DC John Fordham of the MPS. He was stabbed & killed during a surveillance operation OTD in 1985.He was 45 yrs old & a family man.We unveiled our memorial to him on The Green,West Kingsdown, Kent in 1987 #HonouringThoseWhoServe

I was selected in 1984 for two Trident flights from the cockpit jump seat between LHR and EDI. @14F_Sqn @mmsBA @British_Airways
