@frea_bird@chrislakin I’m not sure I can without spoiling the game which I don’t want to do but I guess the gist of my argument is that stories can show you what a different way of living your life could look like and help you see things you might not have considered
It is kind of funny that there is an article talking about “liquidating” Sociology when it has been liquid the whole time. Sociology doesn’t have a paradigm, so you can kind of just do whatever you want. This is what intellectual diversity looks like tbh
@LunaNightshade_@moultano Sure but most of that kicks in later game, unless you want to prioritize those ideas instead of military ones so there is a trade off. Your economy only grows like crazy if you win the wars. I thing it is strong but decently balanced
@chrislakin Yeah that was an interesting read a fun counter point is that entertainment can also be highly effective for inner work. Playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33 really helped me take a look at and change some of the choices I was making
you know who couldn't make it? the hundreds of people currently in Tracy, Sac, and NYC (or just in SF, working or living their life) who'll be able to move to/within our wonderful city and live in this beautiful building after it opens.
🌟 Get true reachability calculations with the Isochrones API.
This API calculates the area you can reach from an origin point within a set amount of time — but unlike a radius, it accounts for actual road network travel times ➡️ https://t.co/q01DZA6T0X
Seems a little unfair how much the psychologists get picked on for all their studies that failed to replicate, when we only know about this because they did the right thing and tried to replicate them.
@Primal_Knife@Noahpinion Have you put any time into profile optimization? At least in the case of Hinge with the prompts it offers a lot of non looks based opportunities to showcase your personality
None of the work trackers (Jira, Linear..) have a concept of underwriting. Take any ticket and try to answer: What budget / capacity is this coming out of? Who authorized spending time on this instead of something else?
This is a hugely first-class piece of info, ontology-wise.
@ben_golub Idk, isn’t a lot of the sloppiness downstream of how hard it is to get high quality data about lots of social systems? Or do you more mean the credibility revolution will become more entrenched in fields other than Econ?
