@cartersoren19@KIN110UofR This is quite sad to see. I have definitely seen masks thrown on the ground when walking near public places or parks near my house.
@KIN110UofR the council hopes to advocate for improvement on education, visitor facilities, alternative recreational destinations, law enforcement, more rangers and staff, and many other factors to protect the environment and provide a safe experience for visitors.
@KIN110UofR please retweet. An example of #impactsonenvironment Overuse in the Adirondack Park https://t.co/4FPjH6fWdI
The Adirondack council is working to raise awareness to provide an approach towards protecting the Adirondack wilderness and waters from overuse
@chutskoff30@KIN110UofR I think stories like these are important to help break the stigma around #mentalhealth.Recovering from a traumatic event such as this can’t be done easily if one fears speaking out about their mental situation to others for support.
@JennaERamsay1@KIN110UofR I do feel that because he demonstrated support to all teams that he received more respect in the Canadian sports community. If he were to show favour and was unsupportive of certain teams, I think some people would lack respect for him as they could feel unappreciated.
@KIN110UofR please retweet. On the topic of #LGBTQ athletes in the media, this years 2020 Super Bowl sponsored ads (Sabra hummus) included two “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alumni’s. This raised controversial emotions in fans. Over 1 million moms associated a petition to boycott the game.
@KIN110UofR
An example of #mentalhealth awareness. The video As Long As I Breathe shows Rosie MacLennan, as she raises awareness about her struggles with anxiety in sport and the importance of seeking help.

A major step towards improving mental health in sport is breaking down the stigma and letting athletes know battling mental health is ok and that it is important to speak out. When athletes such as Rosie speak out, it can allow others to feel empowered in doing the same.
@KIN110UofR An example of #spectatorviolence was when dozens of arrests were made during Oakland Raiders-SF 49ers ‘Battle of the Bay’ game. There was a social media video released of two 49ers fans fighting during the game. Other arrests were for public intoxication.
@KIN110UofR An example of #fanviolence in sport is in 2002, when Tom Gamboa(Kansas City Royals coach) was attacked by a father and son from behind. He had several cuts and bruises and a pocket knife was found at the scene.
@Morgan08632584@KIN110UofR The amount of people Larry Nassar assaulted is insane. His sentence is up to 175 years in prison which I feel is well deserved.
@WiensDierdra@KIN110UofR I too have seen examples of #overconformity in the sports I have participated in. Many of my teammates competed through injuries and ended up worsening their situation and having to take longer time off to heal.
@KIN110UofR An example of #deviance is the Black Sox Scandal. Eight members of the Chicago White Sox had been bribed by gamblers to throw the 1919 World Series.
@KIN110UofR An example of #overconformity Kristin Kaye was the 2002 U.S. rhythmic gymnastics champion and suffered with eating disorders throughout her career. She felt pressure and went to extreme lengths to uphold the thin physique that rhythmic gymnastics portrays to society.
@raya_erickson@KIN110UofR I do not think game suspensions are enough! Consequences such as fines should be put in place as well as more ways to provide education on such topics. If the consequences of racial slurs are not large, people will not care and most likely continue such behaviours
@KIN110UofR Stand With Us. #ISupportHDA https://t.co/nfTsaaQ32g via @YouTube This video highlights The support the Hockey diversity alliance is receiving, working on their mission to make hockey as diverse and inclusive as possible #HDA
@chutskoff30@KIN110UofR I think that body checking should be allowed. If men can do it, so can women! Introducing body checking into the game will add more of a challenge and exciting factor to women’s hockey.
@KIN110UofR Revolution Roller derby is challenging the ideal norms within sport, creating a game of aggression that is inclusive of all genders and sexuality’s. #challenginggendernorms
