@AHomelyHouse Please tell me how you get the taters out of that tater tower! It might be as tall as me.
I’d love to not have so much space taken up by ground taters.
@StarePoti Also, A lot of us are reclaiming our own educations as we homeschool our kids. it’s a joy & super exciting to remember (or learn for the first time) with all the small people you love the most in the world. my kids already have a wider “feast”, to quote mason, than I ever did.
@HistoryWJacob How did I miss this?! My 8yo son is prepping a John Paul jones costume for our homeschool co-op biography day. I can’t wait to catch this one :)
@mandalynns23 My husband usually plans something: dinner, a walk/short day trip, depending on the stages of our kids that year. I don’t plan anything for myself. Sometimes lunch with friends or they’ll come over with coffee & we will hang out. Nothing big, just an excuse to be together!
@OldHollowTree I did live in a semi-sketchy city, so I got it. We weren’t into halloween generally so I didn’t go, but I totally got it. I didn’t even realize til this discourse that it was popular and widespread!
@OldHollowTree I wonder if it was borne out of a desire to give the kids an experience, but neighborhoods were getting sketchy? my church did this about 20 years ago b/c houses were putting downright demonic decor, there had been some safety concerns in previous years with much older teens, etc
@nonregemesse Has anyone even tried to make a film about stephen Decatur or the Barbary Wars?
John Paul Jones?
Not military, but Ernest Shackleton even? I’m in such a nautical reading spell, there’s so much out there!
