"I know the Knicks are not going to offer Karl-Anthony Towns a max extension. They want him to take a discount. The dialogue between the Knicks and Towns' side has been positive. The Knicks definitely making it known they want Towns here.
They also want Josh Hart here for a long time. It's going to be interesting to see with Miles McBride because of the math situation. Are they going to have enough money left over to extend McBride? If they extended Towns and Hart and those extensions combine for, let's say, $75 million in year one, they would only have about $13 or $14 million left over to offer Miles McBride if they want to continue to remain below the NBA's second apron."
@IanBegley reports after Knicks media day on the latest in contract extension talks between the Knicks and Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and Miles McBride:
@payer_single The only team in the second apron last season was Cleveland. The teams collapsed bc they wanted to avoid the apron and the money associated with it. Not because of the penalties from being in it
@KnicksCentral They should just let KAT do all media appearances including post game interviews. I actually think both he and Brunson would prefer that
This doesn’t seem that crazy to me. Blue states have state governments that can help protect them from the worst of the Trump regime. Red states don’t and their people are feeling the effects
Polls over the past week or two (mostly GREAT for Democrats, but Collins still ahead in Maine?!?) tell an internally consistent but slightly weird story: D gains are overwhelmingly concentrated in red states.

Someone who understands AI pls explain to me how even if anthropic is building their super AI “responsibly” that doesn’t stop the other companies who aren’t doing it “responsibly” from making their own dangerous advancements?
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Here is John Fetterman’s video message for the Republican Midterm Convention: Yes, I’m a Democrat. Why am I here? Dave McMcormick is the kind of Senator that gets the job done.
I just don't know how you can compete in a media-environment where Biden flubbing a word in a press conference receives complete media saturation coverage as proof of how senile/unfit he is for the job, while Trump (whose brain is just totally gone) telling very specific, completely imagined lies about his heroism at a fking 9/11 memorial (!!!!) will barely get any coverage outside of the partisan lib-sphere.
It's just.....beyond words.
Trump’s billionaire allies own Fox News, CBS, WaPo, WSJ, Politico and NY Post — plus 185+ local tv stations and news in 100 markets.
They own X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Truth, YouTube and Twitch.
They control the AI you're asking for answers, the algorithms feeding you content, your personal data you've given up for access, and the devices you rely on.
The news and your privacy are now what the right-wing say it is, and pretending that the media is “left-wing,” is just the lie the Right tells to seed doubt about the things which get reported objectively.
