Good morning, there remains a threat for severe weather today w/1 or 2 rounds of storms possible. Conditions will be favorable for fast-moving severe storms, especially during the afternoon and near/south of a warm front. Here are additional details on the forecast.
Today will go down as the craziest weather day I have ever covered in my home state. Gambled east in the open warm sector / modifying outflow regime ahead of the PFT/cold front and it paid off in the form of numerous large, damaging, but photogenic tornadoes in central Illinois.

@StrmchsrHunterF I’ve chased most busy May setups in the last few years and it feels to me it’s never getting better. Maybe if we have a stretch like 2020-2022 again but even then any decent setup will draw hordes out. I worry there isn’t a good solution for either chasers or law enforcement
