@Gamemode1111@tsunzoo@TylerGlaiel Probably because of the emulation overhead required to run a flash-like game on hardware that has 0 accelerators or support for flash-like technologies
@maxarus@Jonathan_Blow@Reply_Addict If there were an executive decision made 8 years ago, sure, but without leadership direction that early into development there's likely no shot and too much has likely already been made within that workflow. It's possible if they started work on doing so long ago though
@thiccdotexe Frankly, they could just update the engine. It's just disruptive to existing work pipelines and would be hard on the business, but absolutely technically possible to do everything they do today without the loading screens and jank, it's just a matter of how expensive
@maxarus@Jonathan_Blow@Reply_Addict It is a deeply foundational and architectural technical problem with how the engine is designed and implemented. Changing it would change entire production pipelines and take a very long time, making it a dicey business decision (but a great game design decision)
@AntonHand "18k reviews on Doom Dark Ages" is not what impacted id- they're caught in the splash radius of a much larger problem that is XBox's entire portfolio over the last 10 years
@JuiceHead33 Companies almost always layoff the most experienced, because they are the highest paid and easies to make a dent in financial accounting- what is ignored every time is exactly what you implied: institutional knowledge, team chemistry, unquantifiable talents. Sad and gross
@alexfredo87 I really like the way the light lands with this lofi sprite artstyle; I think there's a lot of room to explore retro rendering styles with more dynamic lighting that wasn't possible at the time (like this)
@Boolean_Var I can't seem to find where anyone is acting like this is "the second coming of Christ", bro just posted his work and people are saying the hair and cape are well done (they are)
jealous or just insecure?
