@Schlomo Well except that this tech has crap-ton more value. The question atm is: Is it worth 100s of billions or trillions? I’m in the first camp right now and prefer to see the value walk up rationally as it actually delivers value.
The interesting thing about the current state of AI is the level of “Bubble Wariness” seems much higher than other previous bubbles. Most market participants have been through at least one and there is a lot of rationale discussion of bubble dynamics.
Close. We’re not an exchange operator. We operate a physically settled forwards market.
We physically verify and validate the compute provided through the market platform we built.
We have the engineering prowess to burn in and validation the physical GPUs, not just broker them to another without knowing the state of the hardware.
This is a good thing given the much larger financing concentration. The center of this market involves two labs that are arguing they’re trillion $ companies with other mkt players at 10’s & 100’s of billions.
Of course they can. They’ve read the freaking manual. In fact, they’ve read all of them. And the docs. And the user forums. And the bug repos and the CVEs. They’ve read everything, everywhere, all at once. And boy howdy can they can synthesize!
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs."
Neuromancer is such a disconcertingly fragmented read that I use ChatGPT to help me piece together the story and it made a remarkable observation about a two streets mentioned in the story:
Rereading Neuromancer and the analogies to what is going on with AI right now really jump off the page. Hosaka AI being unclear if it’s sentient…rogue AIs infiltrating corporations. Wild.
