This is a reminder to all of us on our health and fitness journey.
The most important part of the journey is PATIENCE.
Results don’t happen overnight. I’m close to a 4 year transformation from 48 to 52yo.

I nearly stopped here. Thought I was in great shape. But on a deeper analysis, it was clear I had at least another 30-40lbs to go.
Discovered @joinladder May 2024. Coach Sam’s Project Alpha programme helped to strip off 35lbs in 6mo compared to 40lbs in 18mo initially. I then stayed consistent with 4-5 sessions a week as much as I could with some breaks.

Here, I had met my 100lb goal. I was happy but I felt like skin and bones.
So I changed up my programming in Ladder to focus more on strength and modified my diet (more protein and carbs).

The results are clear. I feel lean yet have filled out nicely. Also, I’m at a very nice maintainable level.
I’m 2 months off my 52nd birthday and feel and look better then I ever have.
Please all remember not to be hard on yourself.
Stay patient.
Stay consistent.
Stay strong.
I hope this inspires anyone out there struggling with their weight and self image.
You can and will achieve your goals. If I can do it from 48, anyone can.
PS, as I know the “Nattie or not” debate will start.
I didn’t start TRT until I was half way through and down 50lbs. It would have been a complete waste starting before I’d changed my lifestyle, diet and got weight going in the right direction.
TRT I know had some benefit BUT it’s NOT a magic pill. I still needed to do the work. I highly recommend everyone male & female to get their hormones and biomarkers checked and build a plan to optimise.
Personally I feel the long term benefits are absolutely worth it. Bone density improvement, improved musculature for longer term mobility, energy and vitality.
PPS I lost essentially all my weight through consistent fitness and diet vs being supported by GLP. Mainly this was due to me not really knowing about GLP back then.
(I am a full supporter of GLP though when paired with increased protein consumption and a workout routine that includes weightlifting to mitigate the negative side effects.)
However, in the last 24mo I have been experimenting with some peptides. Tesamorelin did help to shift some belly fat. BPC157/TB500/KPV (Wolverine Stack) does help with repair and recovery. GHKcu is great for skin/hair repair and growth. Low dose Retatrutide does help with appetite and snacking control (only started 6mo ago).
Please remember to always seek professional advice if you’re considering supplementing with peptides or HRT and start with a blood test analysed by a real specialist, one very likely to NOT by your PCP.
@BowTiedBroke Check out Floor & Decor for this too. Set the whole job up as a quote and get a volume discount.
As for HD/Lowes, certain products like cabinets, flooring are not the greatest quality so you still have to be careful depending on the job type
@ChiefEngineerCE Let’s not forget the random pull into your boss’s or his boss’s office to help with a project. That project ends up getting you promoted. Remote will never give you the happenstance meetings and networking opportunities.
@LifeIgniteRsrch Well I don’t think they will be that cheap. More likely a $30k TeslaBot on a lease for about $500/mo replaced every 2-3 yrs. Elon will nail pricing I’m sure and make it too attractive when compared to a human.
These type small business owners, are going to buy TeslaBots by the DOZEN.
No more call outs
No more bad attitude
No more lying
No more training (full Matrix-style knowledge transfer to new bots)
No more communication challenges (multi-lingual, even able to speak Karen)
No more sleeping (24/7 coverage)
No more Zyn budget
I know many on Home Services X think differently and that’s ok. I’m long on Tesla due to the massive labor force change coming. It will impact much more than AI is today.
Just had a very short, but interesting chat with my plumber as he was cleaning out our lines.
Running 3 trucks (including his).
Fired a guy for not taking ownership of a mistake he made.
Had another no-call, no-show today.
So he’s running double duty today and this past weekend.
Zero complaints. Said he can’t let guys that “don’t want excellence” on customers properties.
“The business means too much to me to compromise quality.”
Also mentioned how hard it is to find quality techs.
4.9 stars with 100+ reviews. Young company, but has what it takes. Probably mid-30’s guy.
@USMC1195 Like many trade jobs, dexterity is critical as well as knowledge. All humans will not be replaced but bots will for sure have excellent human like dexterity, speed and insane knowledge. It’s not a matter of will it happen, it’s when.
@Rugger77l It’s already happening with big machinery. All driverless, GPS’d and monitored so this scenario of replacing the human picking labor is very likely too.
Think about the change in legal and immigration with this.
This is purely about finding someone who is your intellectual equal. This has nothing to do with “deep thoughts”.
Whomever you end up with, you will always have your personal thoughts. Some you share, some you don’t. But if you cannot converse generally with someone intellectually similar, then long term it creates issue.
Only way this can be countered is simply an acceptance that you have chosen a trophy vs an equal. That works for some people but the majority are not wealthy enough for that sort of relationship.
i never knew there was an actual term for this:
epistemic loneliness is a cognitive form of isolation that happens when you cannot share complex ideas, inner thoughts, or meaningful perspectives because you lack a willing, able, or understanding conversational partner.
