But what's the betting that local councils find a way to make this seemingly simple solution cost £2,000 per install!

This. Forget cables that hang above the pathway on special arms, charge posts that block the pathway or no chargers at all, similar small channels can easily be added into pathways for EV charge cables to allow terrace homes to install EV chargers and take advantage of ultra cheap home charging costs.

Sure, the solution relies on you being able to park within 3 spaces of your own home or a special charger on someone else's property that allows you to plug in and pay them directly (with some extra profit), but this is the best solution for the majority of people that don't have a driveway.

Remember, most EV owners only need to charge 1-2 times per week (obviously depends on your weekly commute), so this can easily work for most people (I appreciate those driving 200+ miles per day won't be able to rely on this).

@guyverhofstadt @elonmusk There is nothing stopping Europe, but Europe itself. Where exactly is Europe's answer to the problem of gaining cheap and reusable access to space? This is an absolutely PIVOTAL technology and everyone who isn't Elon is just saying, nope that's too difficult!

@EmmaLouisaJ Actually he CAN ride exactly where he likes on roads, with the notable exception of motorways. If you don't like it, get into politics and change the law.

Also when I'm cycling I endevour to go as fast as safe, MOST cycle lanes are not designed for a bike doing over 20mph!
