Really great presentation form @JameGeathers on bipolar disorder. I applaud her vulnerability and bravery so much on such an important topic #csswmmt22@mmt98 Taking Off the Mask of Bipolar; Remove the stigma from mental illness | ... https://t.co/IMOFttmfqC via @YouTube.
Anyways, @afspnational is a great organization working to raise awareness on suicide and ending the #stigma to make this an issue we can address and hopefully bring to an end. Definitely think it is something we all need to talk about and address more than we’re already doing
With all of the talk of making anxiety and depression screenings commonplace for children’s dr visits, I’m curious as to the arguments against not including screening for suicide? #csswmmt22#publichealth@mmt98@NIMHgov@MentalHealthGov
@jflor3401@mmt98 @nned_net Wow. This was really powerful and eye opening for me. Our politicians absolutely need to be doing more to solve this issue and we all need to be working to advocate for the end of the abuse to prison pipeline
@CSSWjourney@CrystalMooreEd@mmt98 Thanks for sharing this! It’s so important to talk about mental health and academia. Definitely a good reminder to let myself feel and not judge myself for my feelings
Completely agree with this point. Schools need to do a better a job teaching children about and normalizing mental health and illness. If we want to end the mental health crisis with children we need to start educating them on #mentalhealth#csswmmt22@mmt98
This means getting past the shame and blame that have kept families quiet and isolated. This means schools committing to mental fitness the way they have committed to physical fitness. And it means investing in social services from Friendship Benches to clubhouses. #mentalhealth
@bll2025@mmt98@TheAtlantic@DKThomp@LDamour This is so important to talk about @bll2025 Young people are really struggling right now and this article makes a lot of great points as to what may be causal factors. Some real changes need to be made
If anyone knows a high school aged person who’s interested in ending the stigma surrounding #mentalhealth this seems like a great opportunity. Excited to see what comes out of this contest #CSSWMMT22

According to a study from University of Wisconsin in 2018, grad students are 6 times more likely to experience depression and anxiety than the general population. 6 TIMES. This is a full blown #mentalhealth crisis. #CSSWMMT22
The #Mentalhealth effects of grad school aren’t talked about enough. This stuff is hard y’all and it’s ok to be struggling. I know I have been this year. With finals coming up, I’m setting a goal to extend more kindness and understanding to myself and my peers #CSSWMMT22
With all of the hatred towards #trans youth being put in policy, let’s all spread some love and show the people being affected by #DontSayGay bills across the country how many people care about them. You are loved. You are strong. You are important #letters4transkids#csswmmt22
"A new social media campaign by @inafried is meant to provide online support and comfort to #trans youth across the country as states continue to pass anti-trans legislation." https://t.co/E3Cxi4yQIH via @TheAdvocateMag#letters4transkids
Heart breaking that this is something happening across the country and ashamed of my home state. Trans individuals face enough hate and discrimination outside of policy. This is legalized hate and violence and will only serve to harm children #csswmmt22
@millenialsw9@mmt98 Proud of you too! The way that we speak about things and the language that we use is important. Glad that you stood up for what is right and made a difference :)
March 30th marks #WorldBipolarDay. According to @IntlBipolar over 75% of people diagnosed with bipolar 1 report feeling alone or isolated. Together we can raise awareness on #bipolardisorder and let those affected know we are here for them #csswmmt22
With mental health there often is punishment for being honest. Whether that be getting hours cut at work due to “unreliability” due to disability or simply being made to feel you’re lesser than due to a diagnosis. #csswmmt22#mentalhealth#stigma
Great quote from this great doc at 50 minute mark: “I don’t think the system we live in allows it to be ok for us to be honest. There’s always a punishment”
