@henrywinter Would it also mean the owners also fail the ‘fit and proper persons’ test, if guilty verdicts proven?
Then would they be made to sell / relinquish ownership of City?
A few thoughts regarding the ongoing debate about the atmosphere at Selhurst.
I understand the club wanting to appeal to as wide a selection of people as possible when it comes to matchdays but that doesn’t mean we should move away from what makes Palace unique.
The Premier League is, by even the most basic standards a “global” product but that doesn’t automatically mean we have to do things that ensure we become cookie-cutter copies of other sporting institutions. I wouldn’t go to La Bombonera to watch Boca and expect Bovril and fans singing about the referee being a wanker, I’d want to soak up what makes Boca “Boca”. That’s intoxicating, that’s why it’s a Bucket List venue for so many because it knows exactly what it is and makes no apologies for it.
I love US sports too and enjoy the various traditions that exist within the huge array of fan-bases over there, it doesn’t mean I’d want it here. It’s theirs, it’s what feels natural to them, that’s the whole point.
If you want to attract a wider global audience to Palace, leaning into what makes us different from the rest is for me, the best way to go about that. Football is the most popular sport on earth, that isn’t going to change any time soon; with our club at its most recognisable point as a consequence of our recent trophy wins, it’s surely best to keep on reminding those who are now giving us a closer look what Palace are and always have been about, rather than trying to imitate others and fade into the background in the process?
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.
More positive progress under #Sage. A bit more defensively organised. Some good attacking patterns. 2 clean sheets in a row. Going into the international break with positive momentum, and injured players to come back. Onwards and upwards #cpfc
@henryswainjourn@LukeCPFC37@Sam__CPFC 7-8 new players, new style of play - it will take time to bed in. I see enough attacking wise to say we will do well under Sage. Just needs the players to get used to it.
Red card was the difference today.

🤩🎢 VfL Osnabrück’s ultras brought the creativity tonight, unveiling an incredible working roller coaster tifo for their German Cup clash with Bayern München! 💜🇩🇪
These points are frighteningly accurate. Clubs are deliberately looking at long standing supporters, taking away long fought for rights and making basic things like season tickets a weapon to remove rather than a part of "ownership" and support of the club.
A study was done over a decade ago and they are right, stadiums are full of people my age, with previous few avenues for youngsters, the vibrant future of any club, to congregate together as a large, noisy, feisty and sometimes intimidating group.
I'm surprised Palace owners have let it get this far because with greatest respect to a club I started at, 90's Palace was old, Surrey based and "nice". HF undoubtedly have made Selhurst a prickly place to play so their attendance is proof that embracing positive supporter change works. And works well.
Going to be honest, not a fan of the mimickery by English supporters of European Ultras groups per se, we have a 150 year old raw, passionate culture and we do things differently, so that's my tuppence on the "look" of groups like HF rather than the extremely valid points they make, which I support 100%.
We've just come off the $1000 a ticket World Cup, we know tourists from afar's spend is more valuable to clubs that a season ticket holder who doesn't need to spend £600 in the shop, and we know that through a cost of living crisis, youngsters are finding cheaper teams to support ( a very welcome unintended consequence of Prem pricing) or move away from football entirely.
If I were shouting still on radio this is exactly the debate we'd be having tonight, rattling cages of those in power, inviting guests into squirm a little as they try to defend pricing, strategy and bringing more youngsters into stadia. Alas, the Premier League, like FIFA and UEFA want only happy clappy official broadcasters to " tell them how great we are ", so you won't find HF statement being answered by anyone relevant in football, they just ignore and ride it out. It's why we are where we are now.
I hope HF reconsider, and I hope good people like @CEO4TAG can find a solution, we need more, not less HF.
Football without hardcore fans, is nothing.
Football without tourists, is fine.
Look after those who've looked after uou for 150 years. Today, tomorrow and in the future. It's why English football IS so special.
Very happy with McNeil signing for #cpfc. Proven in the Premier League, gives us much needed additional strength and creativity on the left side. Plus we wanted him last window.
Didn’t work out for Brennan Johnson - but thats how it goes sometimes, more bad judgement by Hobbs

@BobbyManzi All depends on how we play in it. If we do well - it becomes a classic. The sponsor doesn’t look like it sits well on the shirt - almost off centre.
Would have looked better on the right hand side - level with the badge (like the Nike / GAC one)

#Leipzig. You were special. Great meeting so many #RayoVallecano fans and #cpfc mates. Two teams for who it meant more somehow. Can definitely see myself taking in a Rayo game next time I’m in Madrid!
@FYPFanzine I normally find McCoist good, but he and Gerrard have been so pro Arsenal. Surely they could have pulled in a French ex player / pundit for balance?
