I know it’s become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if you’re under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.
New York City’s history has been shaped by LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers — from the fight for civil rights and continued advocacy, to the culture and community-building that continue to move our city forward.
This Pride Month, the New York City Council celebrates that legacy and recommits to protecting LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers’ rights, safety, health, and dignity in every neighborhood.
Happy Pride, NYC! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
New York City would not be what it is without the LGBTQIA+ community. They helped shape the soul of this city, and their contributions are beyond measure. Today, this month, and every month, we celebrate their pride.
This Pride Month, and always, we’re proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

Pride is joy. Pride is courage. Pride is a celebration. And Pride is the ongoing fight to ensure every person can live as their authentic self.
This month and every month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and all those continuing the fight for equality.
Happy Pride!
It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers.
From the Cercle Hermaphroditos in 1895, the first trans advocacy group in the United States, to the drag balls of the Harlem Renaissance, to the Stonewall uprising, to the Lesbian Herstory Archives, to ACT UP!, founded in 1987 as queer people fought for their lives while the Reagan administration looked away, New York City's history has long been shaped by queer and trans New Yorkers.
To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully.
Happy Pride, New York City.
Before pride month starts im just gonna say this:
-men’s mental health month is in November
-straight pride isn’t a thing. Nobody has ever been oppressed or killed for being straight
-veterans get 2 months. May and November
So do some research before complaining :)
Our new pied-à-terre tax will have the ultra-wealthy elite — those who own $5 million apartments in New York City but don’t actually live here — pay their fair share.
The president cancelling tv shows he doesn’t like & memeing about it on social media is a dystopian nightmare.
10 years, the very thought of this occurring would have been uncontroversially anti-american.
MAGA has destroyed our country.
I won’t be intimidated by Trump — or any spineless MAGA coward like my opponent Bruce Blakeman. While they’re busy screwing over New Yorkers, I’m fighting like hell to lower costs and protect New Yorkers from his attacks.
Game on.
