@Plus3Happiness do you have an email address on which I can contact you? I can't find one. Thanks :) I have been following your account for a while and am deeply interested in your work.
@Innerdevcrypto Hey innerdev, I started reading the Ask Anicca book after your recommendation on here. The prose all felt very 'Chat GPT' to me. Did you think the same?
@naval@arjunkhemani One dominant global language would organically splinter and morph into myriad distinct dialects as groups seek a means to express in-group-ness and tribal identity. The estates of west London want to distinguish themselves apart from East London, leftists from conservatives, etc
@GrimnirHangi@SolBrah Agreed.
Tourism and Airbnb-ism also turn places into zogslop. People who are willing to live in a place and build culture and build something that other people want to visit: these people are worth celebrating.
@SolBrah You (& me) take advantage of globalisation & travel. We travel for the weather, cousine, culture, whatever.
An internally-constent msg would be "respect the land you travel to, respect the land you live on, and give more than you take" not "only live where your ancestors lived"
This year I left London to explore permaculture & community at @tdfinyourdreams an ecovillage in Portugal. We build the future and celebrate the now. Look around: people are building ships to sail through the next era of humanity. TDF is one of those ships. See you here soon.
@brightabyss I can personally vouch for @tdfinyourdreams , an incredible project that attracts the most interesting, capable, and engaging people. Huge long-term vision that is gradually coming to reality.
@arjunkhemani@DavidDeutschOxf@astupple it's too simplistic to say 'all competition is good all the time'. do you want constant flashing ad banners on every YT video, constantly competing for your attention? Sometimes you make a decision to lock into something for a period of time with no other distractions or options
@nickcammarata thx for sharing your thoughts on here. i really appreciate reading your wisdomq for you if you have time: you mentioned the 'exponential curve of purification'; burning karma faster than it's created. any particular methods you found useful for 'purification'?
@nickcammarata Fried greasy food is typical example of ‘Tamas’ food. As are alcohol/cigarettes which many long-term meditators also develop serious distaste for. They’ve known these principles in Ayurveda for millennia. Deep meditation requires a state which is not compatible with a tamas diet
@1000yearhouse@CaseyBHead Genuinely interested what metric you would choose? I think the most widely applicable would be 'how true was their life according to their deepest intuition', but then we'd need to define 'deepest' and 'intution', so it would get interesting.
@1000yearhouse@CaseyBHead What metric could we use to compare the life of a subsistence rice farmer in Malaysia to an antique dealer in London to a monk in Nepal?
Some would compare 'total carbon emitted', others 'GDP created', others 'enlightenment attained'.
