@TomPark1n Almost no one supports the current official name. Less so now that Ghana has legislated against its own LBG community. Brad is right on this one.
@progresstoronto Keeping it given what Ghana has done to its LGB community makes no sense. Plus, the new name seems to have very little support or relevance to our city.
@TPS_32Planner So we are stuck with Pearson which ranks almost at the bottom of nearly 300 large airports around the world? Planned expansion is not even enough to meet demand growth.
@gator_gum GDP per capita isn’t a perfect measure but has been awful for 10 years, negative in recent times. Housing costs and most other living expenses have grown faster than wages. So, in aggregate, as a nation we are not doing so well in terms of bettering the lives of our citizens.
@RodAVanier Both governments seem to be second guessing it now. Be interesting if we ever see the math. Does seem expensive on a per unit basis, but not enough info to know.
@CoopTory I am no separatist but your income tax argument doesn’t make a ton of sense. Alberta has about the lowest top marginal rate in Canada. And, no U.S. jurisdiction approaches rates we see in Ontario, Quebec etc.
@JoshMatlow The PM has travelled the globe seeking infrastructure investment. The Premier hopped onboard Team Canada. Infrastructure investors love airports in major cities. Particularly ones without adequate capacity. We are getting what our leaders asked for.
@ryanphanna@integrity_to I think the real question is why those costs were not accounted for in the first place? Security would always be part of such a plan,
